    Default [Proposal] Accurate faction languages ?

    Hello !

    One thing I always felt Roma Surrectum was missing that other mods like RTR and more notable, EB, had was new unique voice acting for factions. So greeks spoke greek, romans spoke latin (In EB, at least, for some reason i recall them speaking italian in RTR), etc etc etc.

    I was wondering if there was some way to do that for this mod ? It immerses you *so much* in the world that is so masterfully created by this mod !

    I actually thought the Greeks spoke Spanish in EB...

    Really ? weird.

    The only reason I ask is that I miss the immersive qualities of (mostly) accurate faction languages. Id make the changes myself, but im not entirely sure i could pull it off without breaking the game. I dont trust my own capabilities that much.

    Ask EB for permission to use their Voice mod. That is what you're looking for. Then you gotta learn how to implement these soundfiles in place of the current ones.

    I believe that Peninsula Italica for Medieval 2 has implimented EB's voice mod. Classical Latin and Classical Greek are the most well implemented. Partial ones of Parthian, Q-Celtic, Gallic, and Punic were implemented as well.

    I doubt they would let me. Im an unknown to them, and thats some big-time work. Plus im unsure if i have the time to do it well enough. And as you say, id have to learn how to mod those files from the ground up. I was hoping someone else could ask.

    Hi everybody, like future Filmmaker said, why not ask EB for their voice mod. Tone gave the TWC community his RS2 enviroments to use in their mods. It would make RS2 even better.

    Yeah, asking it is way easier.

    I mean, we can do Ancient-Greek and Latin without problem.
    Gaulish would be a bit more dificult, but it would be possible.

    But I don't have any clue for Iberian, Punic (for Carthage), Germanic, Dacian, Scythian and Sarmatian.

    Why not the voices for Rome during battle? The Latin voices they use.

    We could ask EB and RTR. If in a perfect world we got permission from both groups, the EB voices would be the go-to choice, with RTR providing backups to fill in the holes left by EB. Im not sure if RTR voices are accurate though.

    IMPOSSIBLE to get real faction languages. ALL languages have changed a LOT since those days.. It is possible to get "real" sound from modern day, but its not similar as it was 2 000 yers ago.

    EDIT: but yeh, i support idea

    i am greek so i can say that most of the words in eb where correct(at least in the ancient greece) but the pronunciation and the tonnes at most parts they were wrong.
