Please help me fix my USB drive...

There is a corrupted music file on my pen drive/mp3 player
Ive used 'chkdsk' on command prompt which asked me to convert the corrupt folder to a file and I duely typed 'Y'
then it says 8% complete and stops.
I tried using the 'DEL f:/File' command but that did'nt work

take all the files you want off your pen drive, format the pen drive so it has the unwanted file gotten rid of, put all your wanted files back on pen drive.

I tried that before I used command prompt, the progress bar during formatting goes all the way to 100% and then it freezes, then after a minute or 2 it says formatting can not be done for one reason or another. If I go into mu usb and try and click on a file or folder everyting freezes up also. Come on guys, give me a real techy soloution...
