coalition campaign France

Hi first just want to say well done with the mod, second i have never played a campaign as france so this was an oppotunity for me to have a go.. however i seemed to be completely bankrupt almost on the first turn... so i was wonder what file do i need to change to give france a better stating off money at the begining of the game? i know how to use pfm- and db_ edditor. Or perhaps i could ajust the taxes? anyway any help would be appreciated. thanks

Yeah, I sometimes have that problem, too. With an esf editor, go to (1) Campaign Model (2) World (3) Faction Array (4) Faction (your faction is the top one) (5) Economics. I usually modify a saved game; this way if it gets corrupted, it's less of a problem than trying to fix start_pos or something similar.

ah ok i have not used esf_editor do you have a copy i can use? thanks.

I use 1.4.6, which doesn't corrupt my files.

Ok this is what i have did using the ESF_
i open campaign_new/campaign_model/world/faction-array/
here there is a long list list of faction_array's files to open the top one there is a file which says faction economics? if i open this up then there is a history file? if i open this up then there is another 10 history files?
so whatb is it i do... as you never said....thanks

Just click on FACTION_ECONOMICS (not any history). The entry at the very top on the right is where you enter your desired money.

Ah... thank you Gary. Now I can play as France on Hard Campaign Level without concentrating totally on preventing bankruptcy.

I think the economy management aspect of this mod is fun. Militia is actually useful now. Surviving the first year of the 1792 campaign would have been impossible if the AI would have really attacked me.
