one question, will you guys be using a lot of AOR units? for example if i conquer some arab territories i get some of their units and vice-versa, you know something akin to broken crescent but much less strict

because it would be interesting to play as Rome but use cheap militia Armenian or Arab armies from my border provinces to beat sassanids and etc.

We have this in our plans... Don't worry... We putted also local Roman legions with their real name on some regions...

very good sir! terrific news.

I would play as the Roman Empire (Eastern) simply becasue its cool. Orthodox Christian(which as a Roman catholic interests me a good deal) and it would be a cool chance to try to stop the Caliphate dead in its tracks and change Eurasian history forever. Playing with a legion system is also a huge perk.

Orthodox didn't appear really before around 1050-1060. Before that date their was only differences between west and east cults but it was not officialy a new branch of christianity.

Eastern Romans for sure, but aren't the Ostrogoths Romanized as well. I was wondering because they kept lots of the old Western Roman things around would they play similarly to the old Western Romans?

They wull in some aspects play like the continuation of the WRE.. At the same time they never lose theor barbarian origins..

Alright so they will have fairly decent infantry as well as an excellent selection of Heavy Cav based on my understanding of the Ostrogoths, but I may be wrong. And the government structure of the Ostrogothic kingdom ought to be interesting as well since they kept much of Roman political infrastructure.

You're quite right. Heavy cavalry will be the primary basis of the Ostrogothic army in EoR. Infantry will be reasonable, but you won't be seeing any barbarian axemen, for example, aside from mercenary troops.

I will crush arabs and send them back home using Sassanid empire. I jest ofcource, I hope arabs don't take offence as no matter what race we are and where we were born, we are all human beings and deserve to be respected.
