That's not really true tbh, horses don't like charging a solid mass of men. Most of the cavalry in the game are on horses that aren't bred as chargers. At the time most dismounted and joined the shieldwall rather than remaining on horseback. If they did remain horsed their main goal was to hunt stragglers and prevent them from reforming.

I would say I'm generally negotiating from a position of equality, owning all of Southern England, Wales and most of Brittany and have two client kingdoms (mercia, who's days are numbered due to their elimination being a victory condition) and Normandy. I'm not short of cash and regularly try to sweeten the deal by offering large sums of cash (20000 gd upwards), and I think I've had only one ceasefire request accepted, Alba seems quite insistent on continuing a war it is slowly losing, having recently lossed two settlements and a number of half to full stack armies (less than 10 turns since). I've also never cancelled any deals or attacked allies. I agree that offering client status (vassal) does work, although I'd prefer to have both ceasefire and vassal as options. I want to stop one war to concentrate on another front. I have every intention of crushing both nations warrig with me eventually.
The problem with Scotland is it's full of Scots. I've dealt with the scots before and they are just bastards really. They were belligerent towards me even though they had no way to fight me as Connacht since i sank any ships around ireland.

Perhaps they should be light Cavalry then? I would expect a heavy cavalry charge into the flank or rear of troops in almost any formation (although the most pertinent here is the shield wall) to be devastating, but it's not.

The Danes are as bad, they're the other nation that's decided to take um-bridge with me for some reason.

Congrats on a great mod, but I'm having a problem. The game crashes to desktop whenever its loading a battle.
I reinstalled mtw2 and kingdoms not long ago, and did a clean install of TLK with UAC off. Any tips?

They're "heavy cavalry" because they're armoured.

    Umbrage.

    Post your log.

Some of them would perhaps be better classed as medium cavalry perhaps? Though i'm not sure what difference that might make to their behavior. It might also give a better idea of their capability and stop people saying they're not powerful enough.

Does it happen when you start a custom battle?
Have you unpacked the main game?

Yeah it happens in custom battles as well. I unpacked kingdoms and all the kingdom campaigns work. I guess I forgot to unpack mtw2 itself?

Fantastic mod, guys. Thanks a lot.

To unite Norway you have to fulfill the following requirements:
    - Occupy the following cities: Niðáros, Selja, Akr, Skiringssalr
    - .... and the kill of the leader of Hordaland/Vestfold faction.
Its important, that you have to occupy the needed settlements (and eliminated they Faction Leader) before you destroyed the other Norse faction.
I found the cities of Akr and Skiringssalr, but couldn't find the two others. Could you tell me, please, where are the cities of Niðáros and Selja and if the requeriments you announced to unite Norway are still rights?

I suspect there is a bug during siege battles. Whenever I attempt to hold on to a town or city despite being overwhelmed by a huge army, I retreat to a far corner of the settlement. The besieging army captures the central square and eventually sends over few units, while harrassing me with their archers. Much to my surprise, they do not mount a full-scale attack and I barely survive by simply relying on the time limit. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Nidaros is on the northern-western coast, but it might be called something else. Selja had its name changed, I believe. I forget which one it is. Those instructions need updating.

So... it's not me!!! Thanks for the answer, k/t.

Awaiting for that updating... or some news about it.

Just need the new name of those cities to try the union. If someone knows the answer I'd acknowledge it a lot!

Why can't the Normans and East Franks build their own monasteries and scriptoriums?

    Hello Team,
I was just wondering if you could perhaps tell us what you are currently working on. I don't need any estimated times / releasedates or anything of the likes, I'm just curious - and im sure the rest of us are too- as to what you are working on!
    Regards
    Daniel

I bought a 20 in monitor recently and im having a very odd problem. I've turned widescreen on and put it to the correct resolution for some some reason i have to put the cursor about and inch to the left of what ever i want to select. It was working fine with my old 19inch monitor.

I can fix this for you, but you will have to upload your own export_descr_buildings file, as I dont have the original right now. Or you can just download the export_descr_buildings in my submod http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=490018. East Franks now have the hospital, monastery, and academy building trees.

I'm getting the "all baptized Norman churches vanish and I have to rebuild them" bug. However, I'm playing 3.06, and I ran the hotfix, so it's not that.

Greetings Danova and the TLK team.
I have just tried out this mod after following it since the first annoucement of the project.
It is a noble work of modding and is greatly appreciated by a total war grognard such as meself...
One issue though I fear the v3.06 patch on Megaupload is corrupt.
I can tested sevral campaigns with v3.05 but when I patch it to 3.06 an start a campaign it attempts to load then opens a black window with the absurd message of " By Odin and thor something has gone wrong. Dont know what but must exit now" with a OK button that when pressed takes you to desk top.
I have reinstalled the game three times and made sure I have no UAC/virtual store conflicts...
Can you posy posy a new link for patch v3.06 please...
My and others gratitude will be unending...

After multiple attempts and numerous installs I am stuck with the same issue:

I can run v3.05 no problem but still the game crashes when I try to run a campaign in v3.06 even after recieving a fresh copy of the patch from the bi D himself.

I have attached a my latest error log ... I shall now go and drown myself in drink and hope some wise fellow may provide a solution other than the ones posted ( as I have tried them all)

Not sure what happened, but this error means that the name of that region cannot be found in the data\text\imperial_campaign_settlement...STRING.BIN file:

    15:16:22.732 [script.err] [error] Script Error in mods/Last_Kingdom/data/world/maps/base/descr_regions.txt, at line 799, column 5
Couldn't find settlement name 'Borgund' in stringtable

Go into the data\text folder and delete the imperial_campaign_regions_and_settlement_names.STRING.BIN file, NOT the TXT one! Start the game.

I am certainly not happy with all the trait description errors.....
