It feels almost surreal that a mod that I've followed for so many years since first announcement is finally done and the Total War series has a new Viking game.
A great thank you to everyone involved !
I am humbled. Good job team. Years of work, now the glory! Huzzah!

So I downloaded and installed the game. I now have three icons on the desktop. "The Last Kingdom," "Baptized Normans," and "Pagan Normans."
Is this normal or did I do something wrong?
Aztecs invading France? The Pope himself charging into battle? Challenging AI that brings the pain? Check out the Expanded Americas mod.
Awesome news!!! Good work!
Congrats on the release! I've downloaded and played a quick battle and everything seems brilliant. I'm looking forward to beginning a campaign tonight as the Norse.
PS. Maybe you should PM an admin and get your mod moved to the "Released" section of the Hosted Mods forum.
this mod needs/deserves a comment:
Danova and all the others involved - what a damn nice thing you provide here, wow.
the love of detail (especially in graphics) is just ... huh. great, really.
all gameplay seems very perfected and round.
i´ve been checking this forum since months now, and i have to say: it was definitely worth the wait.
Compared to other mods i was looking forward to - is this really a little masterpiece.
cheers guys, and thank you for the work. its appreciated a lot here.
ps: said by someone who plays tw-series since 1999 and is a fan of british-isle-history and Big-B Bernard Cornwell.
pps: only criticism - the battles last too long and fighting needs a bit more balance...
I just want to say thank you guys for the outstanding work. It's amazing
The italian Normanni clan, to which I belong, will always be thankful to you for this masterpiece.
P.S. both download and installation worked fine for me
Incredible mod + rep
Just installed it and only had a brief look so far. But I must say, it looks great and the only battle I've played so war was well-paced (no instant routing or dropping like the flies) - and it was great fun! Viking Invasion II is still one of my favourite mods and to play that area/setting on M2TW will be a hell of a lot of fun. I'll chose a faction with one of those berserker units first and get it going. Best regards! And thx to the entire team for the hard work on this mod!
+rep (I wish, I could rep the whole team at once)
I Installed "Last Kingdom" last night and only played two turns as the Normans but am very impressed indeed. The introduction video, the interface and especially the units are top quality stuff and the game play in my first battle to take the town of Caen from the Franks, felt very enjoyable and realistic. Overall I think it's a well designed and crafted mod for the Dark Ages and am very much looking forward to progressing this campaign further tonight. Well done to all the Last Kingdom team you deserve considerable praise for creating this mod after 3 years of work, it was certainly worth it.
great work I'll download at xmas when am finish my phase one with the British army.

Hey guys, long time lurker first time poster. I just downloaded your mod (first mod I've actually got, although many others look worth a go) and I have to say, REALLY impressed .
I'm a researcher in Nordic history at Lund University here in Sweden, mostly focusing on the medieval and Rennaisance periods, but my work often brings me into contact with the area of history you guys have chosen to focus on here. Your attention to detail is absolutely stunning, and you've obviously done your homework. I think you've succeeded in bringing an extremely exciting period of north European history to life in a very accurate way, and for that I commend you.
Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing more of what you can all do in the future
