What a game that was! So many missed chances, suicidal defending from both sides, penalty claims for both sides; it had everything but a sending off!

Great chance for the toon and spuds now.

1 down 2 to go! put 2£ on the top three drawing with 166 in odds. Will be very surprised if it happens lol.

Excited for tonight. Hope they have a heart-starter down at the pub!

I'm also hoping for a Chelsea win but I'm also hoping for some divine intervention to absolutely destroy both clubs. I also wouldn't mind a career ending injury for Andy Carrol and a red card for Suarez.

Although, I won't put a bet on those

    Why the animosity to Carroll?

He was immense today, best I have seen him play in a Liverpool jersey. Just wasn't meant to be tonight. Great performance with Carroll came on. YNWA!

Carroll was immense for Liverpool, he deserved a better end result. However the rest of the liverpool side were nowhere for so much of the game. Carroll deserved the win, Liverpool didn't. As for the goal, its one of those, its frankly embarrassing that we still can't tell if the ball crosses the line or not. Especially in such big games.

Now as a Chelsea* fan i must admit, Ramires is a god in the making and Mata and Lamps picked some brilliant passes. It was a deserved win.

a shame that Carroll header tainted the victory since it gives room for Liverpool supporters to claim controversy.

i'm a bit upset that Chelsea were obviously playing for the 2-1 rather than a 3-1, and for the millionth time, i still don't understand Di Matteo's love for Kalou. why?

He's a great sub but never plays brilliantly if starting, as to why Di Matteo loves him, i doubt even he knows that answer.

He provides width. I don't see Malouda doing better.

i would easily use Sturridge or Torres over Kalou. it seems that while everything was flowing so smoothly between Lampard, Mata and Drogba, once Kalou gets a touch the attack dies. he is not first team material.

Kalou helps defending, that's why. Di Mateo's 4-2-3-1 requires both wingers to help defensively. Sturridge and Torres can't do that. That's the main difference between Di Mateo's and Villas Boas 4-2-3-1 because VB didn't ask his winger to track back but to pressure up front and they were more wide attackers than wingers.

Although Kalou is not that good and must certainly be replaced next season.

Why would you care? In my opinion that just made your victory complete.

Andy Carroll, Daniel Agger and Stevie G ran enough last night to cover the length of the entire other team. Did Henderson have one forward-pass last night? I am usually defending the lad, but last night was just terrible. Painful!

So close. So ing close. There's no way that linesman could have been sure it wasn't in. him. He should have given it that tool over all tools. What a game that would have been! Andy Carroll would go from zero to hero (in my book he has gone from zero to ok-minus the last months) in about 30 minutes.

    Sweet Carroll Nine. Will-be-Legend.

It is controversy when a goal goes over the line but isn't given. Obviously it's just scousers being victims though or whatever.

But we were shite and the best team won, so there we go. Dire for the first 60 minutes of that match. Feel sorry for Carroll though.

Downing and Enrique have the least chemistry of any two people in the history of the world, up there with Henderson and Spearing as dysfunctional couple. Johnson, Agger, Skrtel are good though. And I miss the old Pepe.

I agree it is a controversy. Definetly. But in my book, a victory like that, oh it's so much sweeter than just raping a team like they did in the first half.

The ball was not over the line. Besides, the referee/linesman cannot give it if he did not see it.

Funny how much changes in a day. Toon got crushed by the champs and Tottenham looked more impotent in front of goal than we have. Neither team looks better than Arsenal at the moment. Win at WBA next week and 3rd place and CL goes to the Arsenal. Toon and Spuds can fight it out for 4th and pray Bayern beats Chelsea at home.
