mickey mouse cup where you play your starting eleven while the other big clubs were playing their bench.

Liverpool did not even gain entrance to the CL so it's even more hilarious that you're saying we'll get crushed by Barca as if it's something bad. Liverpool aren't even granted the opportunity to be crushed by them.

and you're assuming you've already won the FA cup.

so you've actually got 8th place and Mickey Mouse Cup so far

I hope Chelsea wins, and would have anyways. I can't remember a cup game against them I haven't enjoyed. Even when we lose it's usually tight and enjoyable.

There will always be a minority of idiots, at any clubs. United supporters also chanted today. But they did not do it during the one minute of silence (although in fairness they did not observe one for Hillsborough, but that's fine). I think that's a quite large difference and a lot more disrespectful. It's one minute.

Which is still better than 6th and nothing.

Edit: Shouldn't that have been something for Cech?

When did the Spurs go from 3rd-place-contenders to smashed-by-chelsea?

Ehm, today? I'd hardly call 3-1 smashed though. Also, Spurs are still 4th, 2 places ahead of Chelsea. They could still make 3rd

    more like 4-1

it would be better to say Spurs are 2 points ahead of Chelsea, that tells a lot more than saying they are 2 spots above. 4th, 5th, and 6th place are pretty much in sudden death mode right now.

    The match ended 5-1.

If Spurs don't get thier ass up they'll not even qualify for Europa League.

Spurs got well and truly hammered. Chelsea were more powerful and took their chances but I'd be asking questions if I was a Spurs fan. The big players went missing especially in that last twenty minutes or so.

Drogba limping off wasn't a good sign though...

Good show by CFC issuing an apology to the victims of Hillsborough after the game.

Quite funny that Reds still take the mick out of Roy considering that West Brom are only four points behind you and that they've spent only £10m in transfers, and that was basically on two players.

Quite funny that he used Torres as a target man in a 4-4-2 with the aim for him to knock it down for Ngog. Quite funny that he tried to sell Agger and Lucas, arguably our two best players. Paul Konchesky and Christian Poulsen. And that as dire as we have been under Kenny at times, at no point have we been quite as godforsakenly unremittingly crap as we were with Hodgson.

Not to mention the general bad feeling about having the media darling put in to replace Rafa, who was widely scorned, by Purslow and Hicks/Gillette.

I'd give a lot for Hodgson to spend six months at any of the teams above us and then see how their fans felt.

I will admit he has ability with clubs where he can sit back in his lovely 4-4-2 with his 35 years of experience (or however many it is now) and nab a goal with a long ball, but his time at Liverpool was tragic. Also, he described Northampton as a tricky outfit after we lost there and hoped we wouldn't lose too badly to Man City.

I do sincerely hope he gets the England job.

I really can't understand how a Liverpool fan would rather finish 15th in the league with the incentive of winning 2 cups, as opposed to 6th place with the incentive of European football.

You'd be the laughing stock of European football...

Being a Liverpool legend has probably saved Kenny's ass because I don't see the progress Liverpool have made to be honest. Plus Roy never had the chance to blow tons of cash on overrated crap like Henderson, Downing and Carroll. At clubs like Fulham and West Brom who have lacked any big names, Hodgson has done a good job - he even got Fulham to a European final, which isn't bad for a club lacking any kind of pedigree on the continent.

Hodgson's reign was not a success granted, but he came in during a difficult time at Liverpool, a time when there was real financial trouble, and at a time when the owners were in conflict. He never got the backing from the fans, which was a new thing for me as he was about the only Liverpool boss that wasn't backed by a fanbase which are renowned for giving their managers a fair crack at the whip.

I just don't think Reds fans can take the mick when Liverpool have struggled in the league this season - which is the bread and butter and always the benchmark of whether a team is good or not. You can't call a team good if they've won the League Cup - Birmingham won that last year and look where they are now...
