Hmm. Obviously the man is holding a Quran, so we are dealing with a Muslim country. Those soldiers have pectoral armor, so I would assume they are wearing mirror armor, indicating the Northern or far Eastern regions of the Arabic speaking world, probably between the 13th and 17th centuries.
In other words, I have no ing clue. There were a lot of battles in the specified setting

Siege of Kazan, I should've thought of it earlier. It was actually the firsr thing that popped in my mind, but I wasn't sure of it.
