Attalus is correct, someone please rep him for me - had to waste all my rep in a vain attempt to spread it so I could rep him again.

How rude. All those poor chaps in the centre wanted to do was dig a grave, and suddenly a battle has appeared around them! Anyway, is one of the sides Denmark??

Yes it is an Italian Renaissance battle and Florence participated in it, so there's no Denmark, sorry Aethelwulf
Battle of Fornovo?

I think the cavalry is on the other side of the earthworks. We have a crappy vantage point. lol. But I agree it looks earlier, Late Middle Ages as opposed to Renaissance.

Both of you are wrong, but Blatta is very very close

Battle of Cascina on July 29, 1364 between Florentine and Pisans because ...
..... it's clear from the drawing .....
Apart the jokes (that you can understand only if you know the drawing by Michelangelo .....) I only hope being right, but the men with the pants down ... have suggested me it would be Cascina, but I might be totally wrong of course .....
.... and sorry for my horrid English 'Consecutio Temporum' .....

I sincerely doubt it, there would be no sallets and munitions armor at Cascina. If that's the case, this picture is utterly inaccurate and not fair play.
Either way, I found the picture on some Italian site after doing some searching about Carmagnola, and it appears to be called the battle of di Sommo or Ca del Secco (at Cremona?). I don't speak Italian, but with some google translate it does indeed appear to be a battle separate from the one at Maclodio, since it took place some months earlier, on July 12 1427. If this is the battle, then it's utterly unfair because I couldn't find any mention of such in English.
