Correct!
Looks familiar... the Battle of Britain?
Although I am reminded of the bombing scare on the West coast of USA.
Battle of Los Angeles is correct, as Lord Oda pointed out it was an overreaction of trigger happy Americans to a perceived air raid.
I think Cookiegod should get this one as he was assertive with his answer.

Battle of Baghavard?
I've seen the portrait before. It looks like one of Nader Shah's campaigns. Fighting through one of the passes, either in the Caucasus or the area of Afghanistan. There is also what looks to be a town in the background.
You are both correct. In what is more commonly known as the battle of Yeghevard (1735), the persian vanguard of just 15000 men under Nader Shah annihilated an Ottoman army of 80000 in an open field battle, whilst it itself only suffered minor casualties, thus deciding the war.
Keep in mind that the Ottoman military still was very formidable in those years. Austria started a war against them hoping that most of their forces would be bound in the east and still managed to be beaten very heavily.
Brews, your turn! Someone rep him for me please.
It's a battle.. but not quite in the sense we always post here.

Indeed indeed, resulting in the death of a supporter too. You have the floor.
