Ah damn, another later depiction of an ancient battle... even though the landscape looks different, I'll atribute that to the medieval(?) artist and guess Carrhae because of the horse archer in the background.

"Pompeius, after having finished the war against Mithridates, when he went to call at the house of Poseidonios, the famous teacher of philosophy, forbade the lictor to knock at the door, as was the usual custom, and he, to whom both the eastern and the western world had yielded submission, ordered the fasces to be lowered before the door of science."

Battle of the Utus?
edit: nvm you said no huns..
They seem to be a Germanic tribe or two. Perhaps the sack of Rome in 546 A.D., where the Byzantine Garrison was captured by the Ostrogoths?
Attila sacking Aquileia?
... or Adrianople?
... or even Taginae? with the Byz eunuch defeating the glorious Ostrogoths?
Anyway guys, may I state that bigger pictures would be a nice choice? These small pics are a true torturing device!

It is indeed the battle of Hadrianopolis (378 ad). Where the Goth smashed the Romans and often described as the first of many major event leading to the final collapse of the Western Roman Empire.
For the small picture, i'm sorry but I prefer to take smaller pictures that can't be google searched. I find it more fun.
+ REP you are up !

Well technically it is Mount Legino but it is still part of the Battle of Montenotte.
I think SoHungover should get the credit.
I disagree because the episode is the battle of Mount Legino and being easy it needed to be precise. So, now it's your turn Lord Oda.

I thought you were super anti-Napoleon, I mean you've expressed like total hatred I think.
But yeah your turn mate.
It's a 71 page thread so I am not sure if it's been featured yet, but here you go:

its Winteryeth turn
Was at work, apologies for the late reply. As for Napoleon, hate is such a strong word. I dislike him as much as the next self-serving Englishman, but I still greatly admire his generalship. He was a man out of his time.
Anyway, next:

This is either Alexandria or Cairo, but I'm not sure. It is definitely fighting in the Mosque.
