Icon4 MUG: Modding Unit Guideline (Work in Progress for future version)

Good day fellow Modders, I've got something for you, MUG: Unit Modding Guideline.

What this guide has, this is the real deal

    • A new hierarchy system of unit category, from petty peasants to knights.
    • Balanced, realistic values.
    • Great diversity of unit creation, from different mount types to unit origin!
    • Well described and easy to understand.
    • Added several tutorials for supplements and every beginners could do unit creation by themselves!
    • Various list of weapons, for mounted, foot and ranged units.
    • And much more!!

Want to use it for your mod and submod?
Very Simple, just ask me for permission in this thread, along with the link of your project and I'll accept it.
I'll keep a list of members who have the permission to use it.
If it's for personal use, then you are free to use it at anytime!
If I learn that you did used MUG without permission, I'll poke your eye like this smiley do until I tired myself and you will have to explain yourself to the moderators. Please just ask, it will takes you 30 seconds, don't be stupid.

Here's an example of a unit card stats when completed, the following is the English Knights of War of the West

That knight model is a small teaser and if you want to rep the creator, just rep Lord Hamilton Here

List of Members allowed to use MUG

If you'd enjoyed this tool, please give me feedback so I could update it later on (but not soon).

In fact it can be integrated without problems in a Dark Age Era to Renaissance. The only thing that you may need to tweak is for Eastern and Middle Eastern Factions, for the others, no problem.

Interesting work- have to go over it more carefully but after going through the whole thing once the only thing that jumps out at me is some of the ranged attacks seems maybe high. Have to see the play testing though with the different armor and shield values to really tell though.

Should be useful basis for many though- nice job!

Hey this looks quiet useful. But wouldn't it be better to post this in the tutorials/resource section?

Hmm quite difficult where's the proper place but in this section, people will see it more often. If you are interested, just ask .
@Ichon: The ranged bonuses and attack were based on RC 1.8 but the unit category will affect the results and my way to combine a base armour with an arming doublet also increases the amount of protection .

This is really nice, +rep for your hard work. Would it be ok if I used this as a guideline for my mod sometime down the line? Good stuff!

Thanks Fin, glad you like it. Also, after I've finish my mod base, I'll try to update it with additional cultures stats, more weapons and maybe values for other files needed such as for projectiles and mounts.

I'd like to help but my first obligation is to balancing the East of Rome edu. I'll be happy to provide my opinions but i don't think I can make informed opinions on statistics without being familiar with your balance system. Also, I don't know exactly how the battles are calculated, my balancing is based on extensive testing and It works only for EoR. WoTW is the wrong era.

Thank you for proposing yourself. Currently, this version is up and I'll work on it later since I want to finish a model I'm currently working on and doing my coding part as well. I'll contact you when the time will comes.
    Regards.

Just to point out, hopefully you didn't advance too much on unit creation cuz I may release my very last version soon with more drastic changes. If you have comments, share them.
    Regards.
