just above import cas is a small window where you set texture path, when the window comes up direct it to the textures folder in rtw
and just below that tick the box force texture path

(a handy tip if you have photoshop(not sure about other programs)you can alter the texture and up date max by switching between the two)

so did the default show up....

its the same but max as far as i know always looks for the default skin of the unit
you can update to what you want but i only did it once and it was a long process and all trial and error
best way to do it is keep a copy of your original and change the default then change it back when your done

as you can see by the amount of questions in the forums max is a total wind up but keep at it as its well worth the effort in the end

yeah, i can do some modeling (adding things, taking thinks away, makign things longer/shorter and some minor body work) but it is really confusing (especially bones/vertexes and connecting them) and do you know how to open the animations pack i tried it but it says:

file is not a animation idx pack

    any ideas?

Have you used vercingetorixes xidx tool for extracting animations?

    idx extractor/packer
    version 0.94
    made by vercingetorix

    listing files in pack.idx
file is not a animation idx archive
    press any key to continue................

I'd use the Open Listener option. I think it is located in the ' Hammer' menu, the same one where the CAS import/export script, but I'm not sure cuz I'm at school atm. In the Listener, you get to see which texture 3ds wants to load on your model. Now you have to rename/resave your texture to have the exact same location and name as the file in the Listener. Now reload your model, and it should be texturized.

Press M to bring up the material button, from there you can select what texture you want to use.
