what killed the Engineers in their lab.

Something related to Jesus and the consequences came home. I am still not entirely sure about what happened with Jesus but regarding the Engineer Lab is it possible they brought humans back to the lab after Jesus was crucified and their existence created Xenomorphs that rampaged through the labs and killed the Engineers? Sounds a bit hard to believe? Were the Lab Engineers killed by other Engineers?

And what about the Resurrection. Any chance Jesus was actually revived and return to the Engineer planet and thats when things when haywired?

I think that the death of jesus shocked the engineers so badly that they were "contaminated" by humanity's selfish nature. They probably knew what the goo could do around humans are were determined to wipe out their failed creation (its possible they brought a few back to the research compound we see in the movie). That is why we see all the jars loaded up in the ship. But their engineers not knowing their own new found hatred of humanity would be their undoing and unleashed the goo on themselves. This is why you see the last living engineer soo pissed off when he sees the humans there, he blames them for corrupting his race and causing their downfall.

I imagine that this research station is not the only engineer colony to be destroyed. If we do get a sequel I would guess that the Dr. returns to the engineer homeworld to find it decimated be the goo.

Well this was lame, not a bad movie if it was a standalone. Luckily it is, because it is in no way related to Alien which is the only canon.

The robot wasn't trying to kill. The aliens were meant to be brought back for research, since they are Gods' works. The implant must be some sort of experiment.

The AvP fims don't explicitly say the Predators created the Xenomorphs. So, thankfully, we don't have a cluster**** background contradiction!

Yes they didn't created but they were brooding them on planets all across space for practice ( Which is seen in video games,movies and a i believe in comics also ) .

Well for one thing, AVP truly isnt canon so you can dispatch that argument, and secondly, Alien is hands down one of my favorite films of all time, I didnt include Aliens in the uncannon list because it was a very decent fanfic by Cameron, hell Im even willing to say that Aliens can adapt according to nessesity and that the Alien queen was just a product of it, Making Aliens, sort of canon to me.

Well there was a big fuss , about the Engineers sending that ship to Earth which isn't a big deal when you remember there is already a xenomorph nest in Antarctica ,besides it's the year 2093 some planetary defense system probably exists .

Also that means that Predators were visiting the earth around the same time as the Engineers (Both races are connected with Aztecs , Egyptians etc )

Let me re-stress, AVP is truly 100% its own canon. There is literally no connection between it and the rest of the sagas of both creatures. This isnt a fan thing like Aliens to Alien 4, but an honest to god disconection between the series.

Yeah, no connection whatsoever....aside from the Aliens and Predators from the Alien and Predator series of films appearing in the Alien vs Predator films. No connection there!

It certainly raises some interesting questions on the relationship between the Engineers and Predators. Bear in mind the Derelict from Alien considerably predates Prometheus, and there is an Engineer helmet in the trophy rack of the Predator ship in AvP: Requiem. Food for thought...

A lot of the stories and comics have the Predators having lots of contact with the Engineers (Space Jokeys), mostly violent. Both races are incredibly old however. There are Dinosaur skulls of some of the Predator trophy racks.

God I hate what this movie (Prometheus) did to the Alien universe, I mean its not a terrible movie (not great though, not by a long shot) but I hate where they went.

Given that it was succesfully written, directed, and funded in Hollywood, rather than Youtube, I think the AvP films are distinctly not fanfic.

Let me put this as clear as I can, this movie (AVP) is a spin-off set on a different universe, its not the same canon as Alien nor Predator and their sequels (and spinoffs in this case). They have nothing to do with each other other than sharing characters. It is Marvel vs Capcom made movie, the Predator nor the Alien, nor terminator for that matter exist in the DC universe, And Batman and the other dudes dont exist in said characters universes, mkay?
This is confirmed by literally everyone, including Ridley Scott. Its a hollywood fanfic in its core.

Surely I must lack perspective of the complex and unbelievebly brilliant plot that Prometheus has, what with them being gods and allusions to Jesus and god and creation and whatever, It cant possibly be that I really dislike where it went, hated the fact that they basically made Aliens into organic terminators and started to fill the movie with a whole lot of Meta junk that takes lots of pages of fan analisis to "properly understand", along with bad pacing and decent but not constant acting. No I dislike this plot cause I clearly do not understand it and not because I have a different opinion to your own.
