Retraining aka oh my dear chevrons why are you disappearing

So I decided to try alex.exe with -mod for a few less bugs and the ability to give the immortal trait to my facton leader for RP reasons and I noticed that garrisoning your army in a settlement for retraining and forgetting them there for a few turns removes almost all of their chevrons/experiences. I put gold armies to retraining and got back copper

Does this happen in alex or is it a bug?

I think it's a game mechanic. The less troops you have, the more experience they gain, but in return every time they retrain, that unit get's new recruits with 0 chevrons, so they try to balance it out.

yup, filling experianced units with green recruits will end up with a less experianced units.

But this is only in alex right? I have not noticed this in vanilla.

Hi there
Depending on how many new troops you added to a veteran unit, you always loose experience/chevrons. It does depend on said factors, so if you only added like 20 new men to a unit with one gold chevron, nothing happens, but if you add like 60 new men to said unit, you might end up with only 2 silver chevrons. That happens in Vanilla RTW too. And BI (and M2TW, ETW, NTW and S2TW).
