Will the generals be on horses or on foot? and would there be a way to make it alot easier to deal with factions. when i play the game and ask for aid they tell me no and that they know im a back stabber.

Some factions will be mounted but those of central Greece will have Hoplite guards.
diplomacy in BI is alot improved over RTW so hopefuly this will help.
As we can set some factions having better relations with some factions and wrose with others.

yea i was just wondering cause when the persian attacked greece forms up. and i figure it will be hard to do since when you do have alliance, ask to attack a faction, they wont do it or only does it for money if they are already attackin them.
Have you fellas quit updating your website? I noticed that Croton was the last preview posted and was wondering if you were done with it. No biggie, just curious.
The team member responsible for the website hasnt been around much recently so im guessing he hasnt had time

striker, given the nature of the rhodian faction which includes the rhodian colonies of sicily, i dont think a hoplite fm bodyguard is a good choicerhodians > horse (or hoplite)
...but innocence was lost long ago
Hi,
first of all i'm a loyal supporter of this mod , who will be ,if finished , one of the greatest, originalst and most beautifull mods ever...
But i was wondering , with those many hoplite armies of all those diferent states , won't there be an overdose of phalanx to phalanx fighting ...(just bashing one phanlanx into teh other one and just mind the few cavalry and soldiers in the back ).
Or will this be the strenght of your mod , or are im just ignorrant.
How will you keep this mod intresting for 20hrs-campaign sessions.
thanks and keep up the good work,
Quo usque tandem abutere, Catilina, patientia nostra? quam diu etiam furor iste tuus nos eludet? quem ad finem sese effrenata iactabit audacia?
1: Thanks
2: Obviously head on hoplite battles is one of the points of our mod we are curerntly working to make this a damn site more interesting that vanilla phalanx wars. This is why we have made some specialist units such as marines to try and break the repetativeness. But also fighting powers such as Carthage Etruria and the Persians will help with this, plus Thracians Illyrians etc.

as units coder, i can say that we have lot of different units !!
for me, the major interest of the campaign while be the strategical conquest to gain the best or usefull units.
and like SOR said, the phalanx will be different than vanilla one, because it's not very accurate (and funny !!)

Well actually we target on fans of classical era timeframe. And Classical era involved alot of phalanx clashes and not only in Greek mainland. If anyone wants to command armies the way they did in classical era or play major historical ebvents and perhaps try to change the outcome, this mod will be very rewarding. The phalanxes are always supported by other unit types plus the fact that we have cultures with alternative fighting styles.Originally Posted by Catilina
So as you see we have alot of phalanxes involved cause that was the case then. Its like complaining about the use of too much cavalry in medieval armies.
Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
Anyway the classical phallangx it hides alot of secrets of strategy in the batlefield beware the attacs from the right
and before your army is sure that has bean winning the batle dont chase the enemy with breaking the formation of the phallangx cause a cavarly unit of the enemy can ruin your afternoon!
