The Force Unleashed II, lets see here what sums it up...i guess "rental only" would be a good fit. I know i sure as hell am glad i only rented it. I really loved Jedi Knight II:Jedi Outcast, and even more so the sequel, Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. I had both games for the PC and and found them both very exciting. The second one was even more fun when it came to the light saber duels and jedi fighting. So i was expecting Force Unleased II to be Jedi Academy on steroids. This, it was not.

The Pros:

Some of the cut scenes had mazing graphics, especially in the beginning. Actaully, the beginning is the best part and really gets you hyped up for a great game and it really puts you in the feel for Star Wars. The controls were easy to use compared to the old Jedi Academy game, and that's about it.

The Cons-

I don't even really know where to start with this. First off, the fighting is extrememly redundant. Basically, instead of throwing new stronger opponents at you, they just seem to throw quantity instead of quality. Storm trooper after boring old storm trooper. Then you get a few robots here and there along with these mini chicken walkers. Then you get teh chicken walkers. You have to do all this crap to weaken them and then when they get to a certain point you just go up to them and press A in which you do a little cut scene and slice them in half like a hot knife through butter. A matter of fact, all the robots have this feature. You weaken them to a point, then you are told to press "A" and you press tap a couple of buttons when they tell you as you go through teh scense of finishing off said machines. Each type of mechanical fighter(about 6 of them) has their own end, but that it. After you've seen it once or twice it's bores you to even watch.

If it wasn't boring enough to fight the storm troopers and redundant machinery, the light saber duels are even mroe boring. That's right, the part you look forward to the most in a game like this is just down right simplistic and lame. It's not even a lightsaber battle. The computer either blocks you until you get to the end of your combo at which point they hit you once, or you beat them into oblivion. You basically have one force move that you use that they can't block and then you just run up and stab them on the ground; because what is the point of just hitting at something that is just standing there blocking constantly with it's two light sabers?

Which also raises the question; where the hell did all these light sabers come from? Why does every dark jedi thingy have two light sabers? I thought light sabers were suppose to be unique, but apparently each chump change weakling in this game gets at least two. And i mean weakling. At some points they'll send like 5-6 dark dual jedi at you and there is absolutely no fear that i'm going to die. In Jedi Academy if i came across just one i knew that i should be able to beat them but i still had to respect that with a couple of good hits i could get killed. In that same sense, the the end fight is boring as hell too. Either "the end boss" blocks you like the dark jedi stooges do or you catch the boss off guard and pummel "the boss for a bit. No more, no less.

Last but not least, the story line. If you didn't play the first one you can forget following this one in any sense. I never played the first one and i never knew who the main characters were, save Vader, the entire time. The least they could do is give you the option to see some clips from the last one.

Overall, i wouldn't even recommend renting this game. Definitely do not buy it. The game only took about 6-7 hours to beat, and after the first three i just wanted to get to the end. I can't comment on multiplayer(if it even has it) because i never even bothered. I finished the story and just shut it off.
