My focus is now to complete the major factions joedreck already started on (including NPI french mod).

    About modmanager.

First of all DL modmanager. I place the files in empire total far -folder.
Put the sponge pack in data folder. Then launch mod manager and thick the boxes of wich mods you want to use. If the sponge units don't show up then you'll probably have another mod that is conflicting. If your'e playing DMUC try launch the game without it and see if it works.

Also, when you install a new mod with lot of content (like spongemod) you have to delete the game cache files and the last used mods file. Go to this location (Windows 7), also remember to enable "show hiden folders":
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Empire
The game atomaticaly creates new files for textures/weather and other stuff first time you launch the game. When installing a new mod it might be nessesary to delete these files so the game can create new ones.

Don't forget to check so that your mods loads in the right order. Darthmod first then spongemod.

    Hope this clear things up
Thanks! I have finally got it to work. I have played a few custom battles. I have found a "red face problem" simillar to the one of Saxon Guard grenadiers, which was resolved earlier. Two out of three new Polish dragoon units have those strange reddish skins. Otherwise exellent mod!

Maybe you have another loc file left. Look for a file called UPC.

I will try and get the latest unit names updated, since Swiss Halberdier is still sick.

Unit names added for latest units in attached UPC

    Hi guys.

I know that unit names don't show up. Been trying to fihure out how to add unit names to the UPC pack but i just don't get it. I suspected it had to do with "screen name" in the unit_tables but when i added the same unit name to "on_screen_name" in UPC nothing happen. If someone could give me a short lesson on how this works i could fix it.

I won't have a computer capable of running ETW for a while so i won't be modding. Because of this i have uploaded the sponge_SYW pack 1.1 (see below) so that you can play around with wangrins excelent hungarians in coustom battle. The texture and model is still alpha/wip though.

Just add the sponge_SYW_mod.pack into your data folder and then add the line " mod sponge_SYW_mod.pack; " at the bottom of your script.

It also works with DMUC like this too. However, for best game play with DMUC, I suggest a few hours modifying the unit sizes and stats to balance with DMUC.

Depending on what faction you are playing, I personally like it better than AUM. The current version is awesome as any of the northern european factions: Prussia, England, France, Sweden, etc.

Toon, I loaded your pack but I also have the same problem with the names not showing up. I'm using it with DMUC, "mod sponge_SYW_mod.pack;" line added a the bottom of the script.

All the SYW mod names look like:

(Heavy Cavalry), (Line Infantry), (Artillery), etc..

Any ideas on how to correct this?

That's because i have not made anny loc file. Have tried to figure out how to make a loc file for spongemod but i'm stuck. I need to know what db-tables i have to change. As i said before, if someone is willing to teach me how to add unit names and creating a locfile it would be great. Then i could send the unit names to swiss halberdier so he can add it to his UCP mod

Don't know what's been added to toons UCP but the last update (frontpage) contains some unit names.

Thanks. Now it makes sense. I tried Toon's latest UCP, but the factions I have been playing with apparently aren't updated yet.

This is an excellent mod. It would be truly awesome if this problem gets addressed.

    Does this help:

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=419073

I'll give it a stab myself later. If we can resolve this, I'll be happy to send someone the pack version I modded (for my personal use) with proper units sizes and more balanced stats for DMUC. In the event someone would like to upload a version for use by DMUC players.

Thanks gary. some good deals there I suck at computer components and building a rig is way past my knowledge I will probably try to buy something from a swedish seller.

My biggest dilemma is the graphic card, i like Nvidia Gerforce better than ATI-Radion but i'm nott sure wich one gives the best result.

Hi mate yeah i know what you mean... best by from your own country but am sure you will find similar dealers, with regards to gcards i have a Asus 560 Tii gig, it's great and is very cool running. So i would recomend that card, even better if you run it in sli.

I have a single 460gtx that runs all total war games 100% with no lag, I would recommend also investing in a good processor and RAM at least 4gb worth

A bit out of topics here (SYW), but AMD Radeon need less electric power than their GeForce counterparts.
But a computer should be seen as a whole, it's an equilibrium between CPU-Motherboard / GPU / RAM /HDD and budget. Don't forget a good power supply (stability and efficiency) too.

Thanks for the tips guys, have some rep I actually noted a huge differance when i switched from a comp with Nvidia Geforce 8000 ATI-radion mobile HD 5470 (both spelled wrong i think) and it was not for the better. Actually the old crappy Geforce card gave much better graphics. I'm gonna buy a solid system that dosn't need over clocking and that will do it's job for quite some time. A grapich card with atleast 1 GB is prefered.
