I need help. I have played Rome total war for years

I just got a new computer and bought the Alexander add-on and am really excited to play Lord of the Ring total war. I downloaded the beta 2.0 version then the 2.08 patch which created a short cut icon on ym desk top. then i clicked on the icon and it pulls up a Lord of the Rings page that has nothing in the middle of the screen and says in the lower right corner

If I leave it for a bit nothing else happens just the picture. If I hit enter it drops the cover screen and goes straight to my desk top. What can I do? What do I need to do? What have I done wrong? I have window 7 is that the problem? I need help I want to play this game so bad!!! Thank you.

Did you try reinstalling it? I had a similar problem and i reinstalled it and it worked for me.
