im kind of confused about Units

so i am kind of confused about the units of SS 6.4

first, I did not turn off 'real recruitment' because i didn't understand what it did exactly so if my following problem is because of this then do tell.

long story short in custom battles there are many, many soldiers available to the Kwarasims (the only faction i tired so far) but when i play in the campaign (i used cheats to speed everything along) the most unit i am able to get are militia or high end militia, no royal guards or heavy spearmen or elite heavy cavalry. i though this was because of similar things like in Third age where i have to wait until a certain turn to get access to these units but unlike third age i did not receive any message that described such an event.

it's probably because you don't build the right buildings, you need a castle or better to recruit any type of cavalry unit. The real recruitment makes it more difficult to get the unit you want. I think it makes it so you can only recruit certain units in certain places eg. Greek Flamethrowers can only be built in constantinople
