    I finally managed to install it my previous file may be a problem i already crashed when tried to launch campaign with the Brits

    Somethings pls try to tone down a bit running and stamina especially for horse they vanillia speed is made to look nice when you move the camera but if you stand still its funny and even infantry is able to run like 500 meters like Olympic athletes
    REMEBER that the most awesome modes always toned down vanillia speed
    Reduce also the numbers of cannons you had 2-5 per thousand in most battles

    Well the point of the mod is to, "Create the best ETW without destroying the essence of the game" so I don't think that is a good idea

    Explore the word and conquer it all.

    Have you considered looking at the "native ally" units? I like them generally, but the 1-shot, 50-yard musket seems odd -- the Rangers and other similar units learned their tactics from the Natives, not the other way around. Just a thought, given their prominence in the GB-Fr rivalry in North America

    Do we really want percussion caps in the 18th century, though? Wikipedia says it wasn't introduced until 1839.

    Nice work.

    Some comments :
    As Erikberg wrote it, no percussion caps in I.S.
    Ring and Socket bayonet technologies are too late : French used socket bayonet as soon as 1703 and English used officialy it around 1715.

    We will avoid to use any vanilla technologies (Military syllabus, etc.)
    What is important is to find :
    • military regulation technologies (military reforms allowing new era units)
    • weapons technologies (when important weapons/ammunitions did they have been use, for instance "cartridge", "brown bess" musquet for English, etc.)
    • "Tactic" and drill technologies (for instance "light troops", peleton fire, etc)
    • administrative/organization technologies (for instance "general staff", "military hospital", etc)


    This is a very hard work, because you have to search for historical materials about it. How the army was organized and how organization change through XVIIIth century, what tactic/deployment formation were used and when, what and when new weapons or major upgraded occurs, etc.

    And then, you have to decide how to organized your techtree, how technologies are linked together and what bonus they give to player.
    But you also have to be carefull to not make those technologies too powerful compared to other factions.

    Don't forget to give references to each technologies.


    Creating a techtree need time to polish it.

    Thanks you two for the input about the percussion caps. And thanks to wangrin for the short lection This technology is removed. Also socket bayonets can be enabled earlier.
    and after a few hours of research I found a book from the mid 19th century about the hanoverian army, this gave me some new ideas. Anyway the techtree is now reworked (I had already created one).

    How about Ireland as a British protectorate?

    Technically speaking, Ireland wasn't part of the UK until 1801, it had its own parliament etc. It also allows a simulation of Ireland betraying/liberating itself from the UK, as well as the necessary military crackdown. Having Ireland as a volatile protectorate as opposed to a secure region is more realistic imo.

    Just giving my opinions here about the game they might not be apreciated but here i go,

    Out of my own point of view playing ETW is something that i come back to from time to time, I have been playing it on and off since the release, what I dont feel like doing is playing an extremley "slow" game when it comes to technology therefor
    removing the ability to exchange techs with other facions is one of the reasons i decide to play the Darthmod instead, even tho your units amongst other features are far better.

    Increase the fleet movement range to "more accurately", unless they used oars on ship of the lines i dont think they moved this slow, plus the main reason for me is the game is alot more fun when the fleets have huge movement ability.

    Faces... I play the game on every graphic options enabled with all the settings turned up to max, some of the faces (NOT counting in the vanilla faces wich looks like a fat pile of dogshit) seem to be less good looking than others when it comes to detail and "smoothness".
    All of the french units that are new and i am guessing these are your creations, are some if not the best units ever created for Empire total war so far (in my opinion). But, just now and again I see a ugly face in the midst of all this beauty, i am mostly referring to the british units who have far from as good looking faces as mostly all the french units have, i am referring to the "smoothness" now if you know what i mean, some faces just seems to be to blocky to me, it really spoils the rest of the game having to watch that im afraid.

    Again i point out i do NOT mean the design of the faces i mean the smoothness of the faces as some are to blocky in my opinion, i do hope this is understood correctly.

    I should add that apart from france and britain there are alot of good looking units added in this mod with really beutiful models and faces that are a truly epic aswell

    It is good that you removed the stone forts, they looked like crap on the battle map and were no fun at all to play, tho if you could add permanent wooden forts around the map that would be awesome! the wooden fort is the only fort i thought was good looking, fun to play and would make a nice touch to the campaign map, but dont make them buildable, just have wooden forts placed on strategic locations around the world, that would be legendary!

    Edit: i almost forgot, Please remove the platoon firing it is the most booring animation to watch in the entire game and a real gamebreaker, maybe not realistic wise but fun wise

    Yeah if we remove the technology trade it is because as we have a specific tech tree for every factions, that will cause several problems so no we will not come back to the vanilla system.

    For the ships you really think that it was accuracy to move a boat of that dimensions? It is realistic and more challenging.

    For the mustached guys you do not like we are reviewing each units so as to add a new face, so no worries your "ugly faces" will be removed.

    Anyway thank you for the feedback we try to make our best so as to make ETW the most realistic and challenging that we can so as to lead to a best gameplay mod (I mention the fact that we are trying to do it, not claming to be the best Epic mod ever for a strategy game as saw on DM page).

    okey about ships, my main reason was to make it more fun it was just a guess that they move faster in real life.

    Platoon firing, anyway i can remove that myself some way? as i see the french tree needs it to be upgraded for the posibility to unlock later technologies

    what about my suggestion with the wooden forts, do you agree that wooden forts can actually be fun to play?
    and that it may be nice to have them placed on key locations around the world? but not buildable.

    And oh my god if you get every face in the game to be a smooth good looking one it will be epic beyond epicness, it will be legen.. wait for it... DARY!

    Haha yeah it is the whole problem of those times, replacing every faces. We want a consistent thing roster of units and the heads play a role pretty important in that way.

    For the forts we have a better idea the no fort mod is just tempory. We have to test it before making some advert.

    For the platoon firing we will see if we have to remove it or not. The final release will be out soon.

    Removing fort must be an option.
    Even if CA fort are ugly, I think that removing fort is a mistake.
    During early and mid-XVIIIth century, siege warfare was not uncommon.
