New generals with a faction with no family tree

Hi,

I hope this is a stupid question. I'm headed off to work today, and afterwards I plan on starting an HRE campaign in either 1547 or 1453. It will probably be 1453 since the world map makes battling anywhere near the coast or mountains of Europe a steep enterprise.

Since HRE has no family tree, and this mod does not have recruit-able general characters, is there a way to get new generals? Fight battles without a general until I get a Man of the Hour? Will it give me adoption messages?

The HRE and other factions without family trees are similar to the Teutonic Order in the Kingdoms Teutonic campaign. I'm fairly sure you can adopt generals.

Okay, probably has something to do with the number of settlements, then. I've captured two, but one general died and so I am down three governors! I guess I must make do and wait for the right man to show up.

Make an army fight without a general and if you win, your commander will most likely end up as being adopted into the family and thus becoming a general.
