I dont know, you can only add traits I think. Sid Meiers Gettysburg is so awesome though, I still play it.
These games are some of the best ever made, IMO. Back when Gettysburg first came out, and I was 11, I played the CRAP out of it. Even made it in the top 50 of Case's MPlayer Ladder for the game. In fact, at one point in college, I remember being able to see the little sprites marching and firing when I closed my eyes, I had played it so much. I think they are beautiful games...but it would be nice to be able to play them on true high res.
While waiting for 2.6 I busted my CD back out and yes, these games are still great. My one gripe with them is that after years of playing, I still don't have a very good grasp of the heights. So the AI rides straight to arty spots that can see my units, whereas I have to hunt around a bit with my Division commanders.
Anybody ever tackle one of the Three Day Scenarios out there? I vaguely remember rushing the ridges/hills with CSA and forming what amounted to an inversion of the historical fight. I'm still waiting for the day when I have absolutely nothing better to do but play 3 days at Gettysburg again.

I demoed this game a few months back and although it looked like a good game, I couldn't get past the graphics. Graphics are important to me but everybody is different.

Mplayer! Oh the glory days of multiplayer.
Odd hour Im'a Reb! (who remembers that shout before every random battle generated?)
Ten more minutes!
I grew up on Gettysburg!. The drum cadence that plays on the menu is so firmly lodged into my subconscious, that I can't help but tap it out when bored. One of many things that influenced me into pursuing a history degree.
Aye, I loved the sounds and sfx of that game!
phrases such as: "have you muskets ready boys" or "sir, we've captured their guns!" or "those napoleons are good for short ranges" or "these rifled guns are good for long range work" or "chaaarge!"... so many years have passed and I still remember those little things...
ah... the good old days

Another great strategy game was Take Command: 2nd Manassas, these old games didn't have the graphics but they still were great
I cut my teeth for RTS games on Gettysburg! (as well as Command and Conquer, but Gettysburg! was better ) Great game, and i would still play it if i could get it running on Vista...
Definitely one of my favorites, played each one for hours at a time lol
i played SMG for hours on end ,one of the best games ever. If like me you have been waiting on something similar for years your prayers have been answered check out "ultimate General Gettysburg" early access on Steam. You wont believe how good it is trust me the Ai is the best ever.
