    Default Shakespeare

I'm quite surprise that in a place where people are so educated, that Shakespeare is rarely mentioned. Specially since there are so many Englishman in here. So here are some questions that perhaps some of you could answer...

-What is your favorite Play by Shakespeare?

My favorite play by Shakespeare is The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.

-How many Plays of Shakespeare have you read?

I have read The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, King Henry IV, and Romeo and Juliet.

-What is your favorite quote from Shakespeare?

"Cowards die many times before their deaths, valient men, only once."

    -Favorite lines?

    BRUTUS

    Be patient till the last.
Romans, countrymen, and lovers! hear me for my
cause, and be silent, that you may hear: believe me
for mine honour, and have respect to mine honour, that
you may believe: censure me in your wisdom, and
awake your senses, that you may the better judge.
If there be any in this assembly, any dear friend of
Caesar's, to him I say, that Brutus' love to Caesar
    was no less than his.
    If then that friend demand
why Brutus rose against Caesar, this is my answer:
-- Not that I loved Caesar less, but that I loved
Rome more. Had you rather Caesar were living and
die all slaves, than that Caesar were dead, to live
    all free men? As Caesar loved me, I weep for him;
as he was fortunate, I rejoice at it; as he was
valiant, I honour him: but, as he was ambitious, I
slew him. There is tears for his love; joy for his
fortune; honour for his valour; and death for his
ambition. Who is here so base that would be a
    bondman?
If any, speak; for him have I offended.
Who is here so rude that would not be a Roman? If
any, speak; for him have I offended. Who is here so
    vile that will not love his country? If any, speak;
for him have I offended. I pause for a reply.

    What about you guys?

I've acted two full Shakespeare plays and did snippets from a third, those being Romeo & Juliet, The Taming of the Shrew and Hamlet. Oh, and I get to read Midsummer Night's Dream for my class...

It's hard to rate them, they're all good plays.

Well, ive read and studied the tempest, othello, a winter's tale, Macbeth and Henry V. Ive read/watched Romeo and julliet and a midsummers night dream, the taming of the shrew and a good few sonnets

Favourite play is easily Othello. Favourite Quote? goes hand in hand with the lines i think - i didnt really think about it much but its either the Speech of King Henry V ("Once more into the breach" etc...) or anything from Iago's first deceptions of Othello

People don't talk about Shakespeare because he's rubbish. His characterisation is bland and one-dimensional, the plots are always completely unbelievable and absurd, his philosophical wanderings about the human condition are unoriginal and dreary, and his humour is execrably embarrassing. He was a **** playwright.

Dude littrature have nothing to do with education!
Well mayby in america but not any normal place.

And i think hamlet is the best, thought i like much more when you rwrite it and make it better, the original got a good base story but everything else is bad
You have a certain mentality, a "you vs them" and i know it is hard to see, but it is only your imagination which makes up enemies everywhere. I haven't professed anything but being neutral so why Do you feel the need to defend yourself from me?. Truly What are you defending? when there is nobody attacking?

Hm, so, you're suggesting that books and classics have absolutely nothing to do with education in your supposedly 'normal' country?

Meaning you can graduate from college without reading any literature because normal people don't read books (ah DUH!!)?

And i think hamlet is the best, thought i like much more when you rwrite it and make it better, the original got a good base story but everything else is bad
Ugh. You come to appreciate the verse a whole lot more when you act it. It's written in a meter, you know, and that makes it easy to memorize. Well, easier.
