[Medal] Yojimbo for Opifex

I would like to propose Yojimbo for Opifex due to outstanding contributions to the TW sections of the site. This may be an untraditional proposal as Yojimbo is not a modder, yet his guides have been downloaded by thousands and have had many hours of work put in to them.

To qualify for an Opifex award, the nominee must have made exceptional input to TW sections of the boards, either by modding or other contributions related to the TW section. A member of any Rank is eligible to receive an Opifex award, but must also meet the criteria to become a Citizen. His nomination must also be seconded by an elected member of the Consilium de Civitate.

Qualifying nominees shall have their nomination posted in the Prothalamos and will be moved to vote as per the procedure in Section 2 Article 3. Once moved to they shall be voted upon for a period of one week and require a two-third majority of non-abstaining votes to achieve the award. If the nominee was not already a Citizen, this Rank shall also be conferred upon them if they pass. A nominee who fails to pass his vote is not eligible to re-nominated until three months have passed.

He is also currently working on further guides for Shogun 2: Total War and M2:TW which he plans to upload in the future.

While the honor of Opifex is normally conferred upon modders, Yojimbo has offered years of service for which he has received very little formal thanks. In fact, he has not even been offered citizenship despite his undeniable contributions. I honestly doubt that my little post here can do him justice...and so I hope that voting members will take the time to check out his work.

Sincerely i dont know. I gave a look to some "thread-version" guides by the applicant and i admit, they are well written and exhaustive, worth of citizenship for sure. But now the main question is...

Are guides opifex worthy?


Now i would like to propose the Cdec/Citizens here something i am having in my mind right now, a thing that could be helpful in a future, especially when we'll face other proposals for a medal like this one here (opifex):

Could you guys create a sticky thread here within the Curia (whatever you want i dont mind), in which you sum up or link all the opifex applications passed by current holders or failed (all reported in one unique thread), so to have the possibility of checking what those holders have done for receiving the medal, so to compare them with those new applications to see if the are really opifex worthy? A sample of the ideal thread i am talking about

I'll have to take a look at those guides, and unless I see some stellar stuff, might I suggest Patronization or perhaps a place on the Content Staff?

A thread of all people that have successfully been given a medal by the Curia, including links to debate and voting threads exists in The Tabularium - Register of Medals Awarded by Vote of the Curia.

Similarly to other people in regards to this nomination, I need to check out in more detail what this fella gets up too. I can say that content guides made well and do the job, are normally something a whole team should do - not just one person. I really can't say enough how much time it takes to write good guides and contributions of that kind done well. I'll read his guides and take a look at what he's done in more detail - if you want someone to patronise him, I would likely be happy to do it for you.

Checked all the files he has done. My final opinion: the applicant got talent and nobody can deny this, but the opifex award is too much for it right now. I am sure he will deserve it in a future but not in this moment. The work is very well written for easy understanding as a guide should be, but it's not that exceptional in the end as an opifex award requires. Once proposed for citizenship, Jojimbo will pass it easily. Nuff said

Definitely agreed.

He has pools of talent and has put every bit of effort into the selected contributions. Although I will later browse through more of his work manually, he certainly does have future potential.

I'll keep a firm eye on his work, but I have no doubts that we will be seeing his work here yet again in the near future. Unfortunately I don't quite feel he's demonstrated his full potential just yet.
