The ES Special Edition: Napoleon and the Empire Strike back
The Internets best unofficial Total War Publication!
Napoleon: Total Combat v4.0 preview!!
After a long time in hiatus esteemed modders Thoragoros and Hip63 present Napoleon: Total Combat v4.0 preview.
groovy galaxy studios and TheLegion of Rahl
Proudly Presents a Very First Peek:
Napoleon: Total Combat aims to make battles more visually impressive and much more larger in scale. This has been done by increasing the unit sizes of all infantry, cavalry and artillery. Napoleon: Total Combat gives you the ability to relive the Napoleonic period at it's greatest!
This, however, is just touching the tips of the mod. Napoleon: Total Combat also makes lots of changes to the campaign. Nations no longer have just one large army but have multiple stacks of highly trained units! Armies are no longer comprised just of militia but elite infantry meaning you can’t steamroll the AI anymore but instead have to be ready to face resistance.
Napoleon: Total Combat features two versions which you can choose from, these are: ‘Two Rank Fire,’ and ‘Standard Fire.’ With ‘Two Rank Fire’ all line infantry and Grenadier formations the first two ranks will fire at the enemy, with the third rank firing only occasionally. This is both more historical and much more fun to watch than CA’s normal single rank fire. This can, however, be quite demanding on FPS, so a Standard Fire version is available with normal firing.
Napoleon: Total Combat v4.0 will feature a brand new launcher! This will make starting the game and choosing various options a lot easier. This launcher is expertly made by Hip63

North and South - The American Civil War [1861-1865]
Napoleon: Total War > North and South - The American Civil War [1861-1865]
The team behind the glorious mod "The Blue and the Grey" for Empire Total War now open a new chapter in their American Civil War series, but this time they have announced that it will be on the newer Napoleon Total War engine and will initially only include single and multiplayer battles.
The mod will take place in the year 1861 during one of the bloodiest conflicts in US history - the American Civil War. You will be able to choose who you fight for and whether you want to break away from the union and maintain your independence as the Confederate States or you want to crush the rebels and maintain the Union as the United States you will certainly have a difficult fight on your hands.
When you have chosen your side you will then be presented with another choice, as you will then be able to choose the army you will command. The two sides will both be split into 3 different armies for you to choose from and this includes many of the major armies of the conflict such as the Army of Northern Virginia commanded by Robert E. Lee and the Army of Tennessee.
The variation and number of units that will be included is astounding and it will create some truly excellent battles and some tough decisions as you try to decide which of your many units such as the Iron Brigade or the Irish Brigade will be the first to charge into the fray. A large number of historically accurate portraits for both sides will also be included with the mod, which will allow you to easily differentiate between the many famous (or infamous) faces that played such large roles in the American Civil War, as they fight for you or against you.

EiC Gameplay Previews
It's been a busy couple of Months over at stalwart NTW mod Europe in Conflict (EiC) v2.0, with two big gameplay previews submitted in quick succesion, namely producing a new take on Disease and Supply and Manpower within the Campaign here we'll cover the new disease feauture,
A much missed feature from ETW and NTW was the effect of disease and non settlements within your Empire ala RTW and M2tw, the EiC team have decided to return this feauture to the fore, notably a first for a ETW/NTW Mod.
The approach taken by the team is novel, while delivering a fresh challange for the EiC Commander.
Firstly The effects of disease upon your Empire are:
1.) Virtually disabling unit replenishment in the given region,
2.) Causing a reasonable amount of unrest in the region,
3.)Lowering the amount of time that a region can hold out when under siege.
Couple that with a neat feauture developed that means disease will if left unchecked have the ability to cross into neighbouring regions and armies provides more food for thought for the EiC Commander,
To prevent the spread of such calamities befalling your Empire reasearch will be required into medicine and the funding of Hospitals will become another financial concern for the exchequer.
Players will be able to keep track of the disease through the settlement management panel,
All in the all the much welcomed return of this feauture much lacking from Vanilla and other Mods once again means E.I.C lives up to it's name, the Tacticians Mod
Next Month a review of the new Supply and Manpower Features (Hot off the press just prior to ES release)
To see the full preview or find more infomation on this great Mod please visit the E.I.C Mod Sub Forum
