The part about the flag was a joke right? Because wikipedia says that the symbol does represent the name "Allah" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Iran) Then again, it's wikipedia, so not trustworthy I suppose. Actually, why do I even presume that post was serious? Khomeini a Sikh, that would be fun!

I think khomeini was a sheikh . sheikh = shia islamic priest.

And of course Khomeinei was a Muslim.

Ah, someone said 'sikhe' so I thought he meant sikh. Was quite confused, sheikh makes more sense! I knew that the Achaemenids didn't use the current flag of Iran though, but thanks for clearing that up anyway

Persian Immortal is spot on. That is a Shia symbol. I see it on every other Shia flag in my city.
