I really like The Lord of the Rings and done so for many years, but the true gems of Tolkiens works are those about the First Age.
With all due respect to Third Ages halflings, deserting elves, out-of-date dunedain, missbreed Uruk-hais and Moria as a balrog bachelor pad; the real epic is spelled the First Age. Then here comes a Quote submod for it.
Many are the songs that have been sung of the dual of Glorfindel and the Balrog upon the pinnacle of rock in that high place; and both fell into the abyss.
- Of Tuor and the Fall of Gondolin, Silmarillion
For the fun of it and to bring forth the sensation of the Old times to my Third Age experience I crafted a little quote submod of my own. And if others might like it, I'd like to share it with you.
I used mainly Silmarillion but also sources as Unfinished Tales, Narn i Chîn Húrin, The Book(s) of Lost Tales, Morgoths Ring, The Lost Road and so on. Even one or two fitting quotes from the Hobbit and LotR has snucked in. At the moment it contains 265 quotes.
Intentionally I have focused on Middle earth as well as from the period from when noldor returns and so forth, as it felt closest to the game itself and has been of greater interest.
Note: This is perhaps not a submod for everyone, mainly those who have read stories from the First Age I percive will enjoy it fully, as it contain only First Age-related quotes. But think all who care for LotR and TATW will find small but enjoyable recognition anyway. Please leave your comments if you like it as well as give me a note if there is any typos, problems, thoughts about quotes lengths or questions you may have.
I give my thanks to Agamaran whos earlier submod encoruage me to make my own as well inspired up to a fifth of the quotations I used and thanks to Briariuss whos comments in the Mod Workshop was of great support.
Thank you also to the crew of TATW for the game; John Howe who made the picture.

Reason: See edit
nice one, +rep! i think i know a little submod which might be needing those soon...
edit: i noticed that, with your current instructions, the new quotes will not function: all M2TW text files come with a corresponding ".strings.bin" file, which is automatically generated from the ".txt" files everytime the game (or the mod) is launched. however, if they already exist, they are not regenerated, so you need to delete current ones in order for any changes to show. you need to eiher add a "Delete "quotes.txt.strings.bin" in the instructions, or upload the file your game has generated with the rest of the mod files. i guess you knew most of this already, but i went through the whole analysis anyway...

Thanks, and you'll be welcome
Now, I was to begin to temper with the file quotes.txt.strings.bin as the guides told me but then I discovered that the one there from the beginning (untempered) .bin worked even as I made no changes with it but only with the two .txt files. A bit surprised myself but it worked as it should anyway.
Edit: Likewise Agamarans quote submod need no new .bin nor that it is deleted to work so it should be without problem just to use the two .txt files directly.
If not, then I'll add a "Delete ..." instruction, but need someone to check it first

I'm afraid that there is one singel from SA, and thats from the very beginning connected to FA.
Agamarans have a few, but don't think its more than a dozen.

I've tested it now trough friends and there's no problem. No new .bin-file needed to enjoy FA quotations. Just follow the Installation Instructions and your game
Your welcome Minas, would save you some time and just fun to help.
And if you feel you used quite a few and not a few just put a Thanks to somewhere and I'm glad haha
I thought of option nr 2, that to pick the quotes from the file would save you time, to not have to hunt and writhe them down from scratch.
Though, if I knew what kind of quotes you wanted I could do it for you as I think it's fun; so 1 too then haha.
well if you like it you can make ones with entire LotR universe, a general ones i mean... but i want to use as much from silmarillion as possible, i apsolutley love that era of lotr
