Which are also possible if you actually become Prime Minister of Rhodesia, which has more power than the Viceroy. On that note, when are the elections, Barry?

Okay, I think I'll get a support base in Ontario first (fit my views best), then work on Quebec, which will be harder with the French-Canadians. Of course, they'd support secession.

@Watercress I'll write the election thread as soon as I finish the last bit of the rules, I'm very nearly done Just working on the British chivalric orders (Order of the Garter, Order of the Thistle, etc.) now, they provide one-time monetary bonuses (but which are generally larger than the turnly extra income provided by noble titles), a prestige boost in the eyes of all of society and a cool addition to your name

    Mountbatten would disagree

Would the Conservative (Tories) have an advantage in Africa as practically the blacks can't vote?

Mountbatten's 11 right now. To settle this, how much power does the Viceroy have, Barry? I would imagine they were just similar to Governor-Generals, acting simply as the Crown's representative.

At this time though Viceroys held immense power, it was only in the latter part of the 20th century that power devolved

And to be honest, i think Mr. Rhodes has more credentials to be Viceroy of Rhodesia than your character, Darling

    Are Generals appointed or elected?
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

Yes, for gaming purposes the Viceroys will serve as the Crown's representative. Doesn't mean they're toothless though, like I said earlier they can financially and verbally support you in elections (giving you money & adding to your % of support respectively) and also support you in bids for noble titles and knighthoods, or even nominate you themselves. If you annoy them too much, they'll fund your political rivals in elections and if you really tick them off, hold speeches in support of said rivals and try to convince the Emperor not to give you a title or knighthood as well.

And like with the rest of the Upper Class, if you royally piss them off (by say, trying to kill them, repeatedly insulting them in public, etc.) they'll sic some assassins on you. So there's that

@Fred -Probably appointed by the Viceroy/ Govenor General/ Parliment depending on the situation and army/navy/AF the person is trying to command

Rules finally finished, and also added the Chivalric Orders (check under the Nobility section).

@Fred Commanders are appointed by Parliament, like the older WEFs.
