I am in a state of complete and utter awe...
This is "just" a preview of a mod, but the amount of research and thought you guys have put into this is astonishing, and the resulting preview matches any historical paper I have ever read.
With this, you are doing so much more than creating a computer mod, you are bringing back to life the entire universe of 272 bc.
This might sound a bit corny, but as I said, I am just so struck with awe right now, that my only coherent thoughts are of praise to the EB team! Well done indeed!

This preview is amazing and must have taken a lot of time to research, the weapons and shields look so authentic and that Hjortsring boat is absolutely fantastic. I didn't know that the early Germanic people had such boat building skills. Wonder if the oarsmen ever hung their shields at the side like the Vikings did for protection whilst sailing down river systems. The only reservation I have is the models themselves, as I don't think they look very germanic in appearance. The square set facial features, olive brown skin and fair hair aren't very evident and they look more Celtic to me. However this is a truly excellent preview and worthy of great praise.

Most Germanic warriors in the Sweboz units have blond hair and the faces are based on photographs of Northern Europeans. Its a common stereotype that all Germanics where blond and we try to avoid that with the inclusion of redhaired and brown haired warriors.

Below some close-ups of Sweboz faces.

Great preview, a wealth of information and a look at the beautiful(In a tough kinda way) units. This is the faction I was waiting for.

Very good textures indeed .Yes, I can see now , just that their hair is dirty and swept back, as it would have been, also the facial shape looks right. However it would also be wrong to base their appearance on modern Northern Europeans also, as there has been a lot of ethnic mixing over the centuries and I doubt that the majority of modern Germans would look typically like the people of the Sweboz. Roman accounts tell us that the germanic people were distinctive enough in their appearance to be considered as a different ethnic group being characteristically tall and fair haired. But such characteristics are also given referring to Celtic tribes also, so it would also be fair to say that the terms Germanic and Celtic shouldn't be entirely consider to relate to ethnicity.

    Wow a really excellent preview!

BUT WHY NO BLOND WARRIORS? I think that at least 70% of every persons in northern Germany where blond at those times. I live in Sweden and almost all are blond.I can not relate to those warriors when I am playing.

Why does almost all the warriors have dark or red hair? Do you think it“s racist to make soldiers whit blond hair?

Besides that, I think it was a very excellent preview.

But why is the shield of the rider in the neck if the horse it looks horrible.

It looks like half of the shield is in the Horse.

    Duuude:
    answered above

Almost all the units have at least 2 heads with blonde hair, that's out of 5, so at least 40%.
In the renders I've just chosen random variations and it seems most weren't blonde and those that were had caps.

We still have to redo some of the M2TW animations.
Also the screens didn't include the latest horse model which can be seen in the renders.

    EDIT:
    Haha kicked Horatius Flaccus ass.

70%? Where did you get that from? And The Tank already anwered a very similar question right above you:

Awesome preview! Love the new faction symbol, but is Germanic going to be its own culture? I thought the culture list was full.

It'll be part of the "barbaric" culture which means celtic factions for example.
