Happy birthday AtB!
A little more than a year ago two people decided to embark on this very overwhelming and ambitious project. Exactly a year ago (February 19th, 2011), the first of the many threads about this modification and was made (thus, being officially "born"). There were some silly conflicts along the way, but we endured. And today, exactly a year later, well; here we are.
And what is a birthday without a present? A pretty unorthodox one. So, let's cut right into the stuff that matters.
New faction and symbol.
First off, remember the old contest we used to have? (If you don't, we simply put a faction symbol out in the open, and the first one who answers correctly gets to have a virtual cookie (not the ones that keep you logged in) and can see the full preview coming together before anyone else). Well, it's back. So here goes the symbol. Guess for which kingdom/dynasty/empire/city it's from.

New Units.
And also, what is a little contest without showing the prize. Of course, this can help a lot when trying to figure out the faction in question, only problem is that it's not from the same faction.

Or is it?
No.
Well, here's for a year of success for all of your lives and may the team and the modification be prosperous for 365 days until the next birthday!
From the AtB Team, and me.

The units look great, really authentic. Who do I pass the Rep to for making them?

Amazing! Very cinematic, almost looks like it's straight out the the Alexander film. I hope you guys maximize unit size! Love to play the battles with enormous settings.

I'm not really a big film (at least hollywood films) buff, I do think they distort people's perception of historical battles. But there's no doubt the Alexander film was really well done and its stylistic dust and colours were really pleasant. I definitely noticed that in your screenshots! If I could make a suggestion for battlefield graphics, I'd say-- please make battles gritty. I've been playing INVASIO BARBARORUM for Med2 and the dirt and dust looks amazing in those mods!
And about helping-- wow, I'm flattered! The only problem is that I am a newcomer to modding and I doubt I'll get very far into it (never say never, though!). I'm also new to Medieval2Total War, but I've been playing TW games since the original Shogun. School restricts most of my time. And as of now I'm contributing to the Wars of Atlantis RTW Mod as a writer/researcher/translator/mod engineer... so that also means a lot of my free time is taken up. Once I finish though, I might be able to help you guys.

There's a problem with dust and dirt, is that they don't stick to cloth or leather or metal when you're moving a lot, so the only way it might stick is with blood (or stick in your skin), besides, not all battles were fought in deserts where there's dust and all sorts of stuff in the ground. So blood will suffice. But pints of them will be required.
