In this mod, there will be lots of scripts. Currently, I'm focusing on finishing the map and I didn't script anything yet.
This is a little list of the scripts we'd like to make.
-There will be named forts in the mod.
-Due to the future presence of named forts, maybe we'll remove the castles, so the settlements will only be towns and cities.
-The Milan faction, due to the hegemonic ambitions of his leader, Gian Galeazzo Visconti, will be able to form the "Kingdom of Lombardia". This faction will be created when the following conditions will be filled :
Conquer the following region pools : Lombardia, Piemont, Veneto, Emilia-Romagna
Destroy the following factions : County of Savoy, Duchy of Modena-Ferrara, Republic of Florence
Forge alliances with : Republic of Genoa, Republic of Siena
And when all theses conditions are filled, put an substantial army front of Rome, to help the pope taking his decision.
I know it may seem ahistorical, but it will be a challenge for the Milan faction, as his initial position is very advantaged.
-The Serbian faction will be able to re-create the past Empire of Serbia, destroyed at the death of Lazar Hrebeljanovic, the father of the current faction leader, Stefan Lazarevic, when the following conditions are filled :
Conquer the following region pools : Serbia, Montenegro, Eastern Bosnia, Macedonia
Destroy the following faction : Ottoman empire
Forge alliances with the following faction : Kingdom of Bosnia, Despotate of Morea, Kingdom of Hungary
-When playing the Hafsid faction, you will receive messages proposing you to invest funds on making war on the western Maghreb. Theses expeditions will cost you money, but in cases of victory, your royal treasure will be increased, and you will receive new armies from your newly-conquered settlements.
-When playing the Hafsid faction, you will have the choice of building Madrasa (religion-teaching schools, increasing happiness) or Funduks (private markets from christian traders, equipped with storages and chapels ; increasing trade but decreasing public order).
-We'll think about a Condottieri script.
-Lots of settlements have a vernacular name. Some settlements will have several names, depending on the holder of the settlement. For exemple :
Zagreb, in Croatia, will be named Zagreb when held by a slavic faction (Bosnia, Serbia or Ragusa)
When held by Hungary, it will be named Zagrab (the hungarian town's name)
When held by Austria, it will be named Agram (the german town's name)
And by any italian faction, it will be named Zagabria.

Any ideas on condoterrei warfare? I have no idea if tis coding possible or even..truly playable(too overpowered?) but it'd be cool to be able to "hire" armies on the map, with special statistics, and if they arent paid regularly, they disband(desertation), or even turn on you.
Since the Italian city states didnt often have armies beyond militias. Do trading, then hire some dudes. XD
Edit: Also, why is the Papacy unplayable? I'd make them fully playable. In that time frame, the Papal States was very active in warfare in Italy. Not sure about how Papal missions would work, but arent there mods that make them fully playable, while keeping all that intact?

Reason: More to Say
Screenshots : I have a first version of the map, and I'll put some screens later, but now I'm not home and I just don't have it
Condottieri : For the condottieri, we don't have a very accurate idea. For now, I think we'll make a special condottieri faction, with neutral armies appearing on the strat map ; then you send an diplomat to hire them ; if possible, I'll try to create a special diplomatic option which allow you to propose a price, then the condottieri captain accept or not. But I need first to know if it's possible, but I'm not sure it is :/
Papacy : Well... The fact is that I think Papacy is a special faction : it can never be destroyed, and if you're attacked then the AI leads other factions to crush your enemies... So I think I'll see this point with my team mate.
That idea sounds pretty good too! I imagine it'd work like bribes, but uh..instead of a hidden unknown modifier, you can control how much you pay. I'd suggest finding a way to have to pay them every couple turns via diplomacy(maybe even make a special agent for it? Just for flavour. IIRC, a city would send a special guy called the Condato or something like that to hire the Condoterreri), and if you lapse payment, they desert much like Crusaders, or even turn against you(turn into a highly aggressive rebel army?)
And thats fair enough XD Maybe you could do something odd and make two factions? The Papacy(no armies. is just the Pope. Cannot be destroyed), and the Papal States(representing the...Papal States). They'd be in constant alliance though. Not sure what to do there
Depending on how far you have the map go, I'd suggest making the Knights Hospitaller a faction too. They can have Rhodes And later on, they get Malta(sold to them by the HRE)
Might not work, but I feel theres a lack of love for the Hospitaller/Knights of Malta in games
Yeah, I was thinking about Hospitallers Knights, but the fact is the map isn't large enough for include Rhodes... but they could be a spawning faction appearing in Malta. And to play them in campaign, maybe we'll make a mini-campaign starting when Hospitallers gets Malta. But they'll could be played on custom battle.
Hmm... Your idea about Papacy isn't so bad... I was thinking about a little village in the edge of the map for the Pope, like in TATW xD. I'll talk about that to my team mate
About condottieri, I think it'll be hard to create something special with the current limits of the game. But this will be scripting, and we have all the time to think about that later
Here's the vernacular names of factions, followed by the name of the used language :
-Republic of Venice : Serenìsima Respùblica de Venexia (Venetian)

Rule Britannia has it so that the Papacy doesnt have any cities, yet still exists as an active faction in game, and at certain points armies will appear for them to ruin stuff for your heathenry
I hate to go ahistorical, but maybe just slap down the Hospitaller in Malta regardless? Or somewhere in that region where they had a priory, and just run with it. But emerging faction would be good enough XD Maybe have them give unit rewards for good Catholic factions, and have missions too?
Oh my god, damnation ! Being ahistorical ? I should call the Spanish Inquisition to punish you ! And you wouldn't expect it ! xD
Maybe I could add Rhodes... But I don't want to extend the map (I've spent so many times to create it ), and I don't want to put an island where it doesn't make any sense. And a priory seems to easy to me.
But maybe we could create some scripts relating to Hospitallers, or missions.
looking at this it seems you boys have a lot in common with Tsardoms, do our map extends a lot more in eas and is primarily focused on Ottoman invasion of Balkans
This mod sounds like it mostly does focus on Italy, the Balkans are just there to be on the side For fun!
And maybe to have Hospitaller fun...they are an emerging faction proper, and you can get them still as a faction thing. But somehow have a script that disables your chapter houses if you are at war with the Hospitaller?(and they reopen when at peace! )
Mr. Kriegtooth : good idea, I'll keep it in mind !
Deutscher Kaiser : I can't focus only on Italy, because italian states were really involved in Balkans and Greece politics. That's why there are such factions as Bosnia, Serbia, albanian principalities, etc.
Hrobatos : The main difference between Tsardoms and Pugna Italica is that PI is mainly focused in Italy, with such factions as Forli, Rimini, Modena, etc, plus Sardinia and Corsica.
indeed, I was able to see this difference, where to us Italy is only addition and focus remains on Balkans its opposite to you, howover exactly this opens room for cooperation if your would have anything to offer to us...
As I said it is Ottoman invasion that we are primarily interested in
we have Republic of Dubrovnik, Serbian Empire, Ottoman Empire, Banate of Bosnia alredy done and previewed...
To clarify since re-reading my post...barely makes sense XD
The Hospitaller would emerge as a faction proper when they aquired Malta, but before, and during that, you can get them at their chapter houses, and when they are a faction, only if you are in good standing with them.
I forgot if when uniform changed, but the Hospitaller before they get Malta would be the ones we all know and love, knights in black with white crosses. But once they emerge, the knights would change into sword/buckler men in red with white Maltese crosses.
Hrobatos : You know, the mod is currently in work, and the map isn't ready yet so I don't have many things to share with you right now... I think you were talking about units textures and all this sort of things, and for that you'll need to talk with my team mate (Giacomo Colonna, I think he worked on Tsardoms) who is better than me about this part of modding.
Mr. Kriegtooth : Yes, I've perfectly understood your post about chapter houses of Hospitallers. But are you sure about swords and bucklers (I know for the red and white uniform)
Pretty much, im not sure about at the Battle of Malta, but during the 1500s, they became lighter infantry. Most artwork ive seen showing them wearing just a breastplate with poofy shirt And armed with a thin sword, and usually a small shield
