    Default BC2.3 epic unit size mini mod (and other stuff)

    Now that BC is on kingdoms, units can be a lot larger than standard m2tw.
    So for my own personal use I increased the unit sizes of all units, which I have decided to release.
    I have also added a few free upkeeps for levies and aor units.

    Contents
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 
    .All units increased in size by 2/3, so arab spearmen have gone from 150 men to 250 men. A single stack can now have 5000 men in its army.
    .Doubled the amount of siege machines in siege units, along with double cost. Catapults now have 4 of them in a unit. etc
    .Forts provide an upkeep of any 4 units, gives them a purpose for the player to control them.
    .Cities and Castles give free upkeep to levies and aor units, so a stone wall allows 2 units to be free when garrisoned. This may be updated in the future for other units.


    Just unrar the file and drag and drop into the Broken Crescent directory and overwrite.

    i think its good i may include it into mysubmod.but m2tw is an old game.many user with old comps can live lag problem.for me no problem.i ll think about this.

    Bowmen and crossbowmen for KOJ are difficult to recrute, aren't they? Is that a BC 2.3 thing or is it this mini-mod?

    That's a BC thing, I haven't changed recruitment at all.

    @Karailsam It works fine on my crappy pc, anyway if you turn down unit size in the game settings it just about resets to vanilla BC unit sizes.

    very nice just what I wanted! The free upkeep is great too... it always bugged me that BC lacked this

    okay I changed generals guard to 28 (70 units) for all factions, many already have 25 so it's not too much of a leap. GG usually play a vital part in my early expansion so I need them to have relevant numbers =p

    Many of the infantry units have untidy numbers... I prefer them neatly rounded off but I am seeing for example: 207, 167 it looks untidy (I think) would you mind changing it?

    Please the uneven numbers are driving me insane... round everything off with a five or a zero

    Just an alternative DL... or if it is easy you could tell me how to do it

    how do I edit the troop sizes? I hate the uneven numbers it makes things look untidy

    In the export_descr_unit.txt, first find the unit you want to change.
    For example the 'great cross' unit

    Find this line in the units paragraph.
    soldier great_cross , 60, 0, 1.5
    The numbers in red are what to change to have different sizes. Just replace the number with another between 1-100.

    60 on huge settings equals 150 men in a unit, 100 equals 250 in a unit.

    soldier great_cross , 100, 0, 1.5
    The numbers in blue is what's changed as an example.

    One of the first things I noticed in BC is the lack of free upkeep - both in buildings and units. It is a huge task to add these things by hand and no knowledge which units to give it, so I gave up doing it. Any chance to reveal me your methods?

    What did you change in descr_start by the way?

    No real method, I just gave the most aor and levy units free upkeep. (I may add it to some faction units)
    But sensibly, not going overboard.
    The max is 4 free upkeep slots on the highest settlement upgrade, which is not too much.

    I edited the descr_strat for free upkeep for forts, 4 slots just like the highest settlement upgrade

    Remember that with huge or extra huge units you can not defend walls bacause of their stable sizes. If a unit has not enough space on the walls to be placed then it wont be fully factional.
    TGC in order to continue its development seak one or more desicated scripters to put our campaign scripts mess to an order plus to create new events and create the finall missing factions recruitment system. In return TGC will give permision to those that will help to use its material stepe by step. The result will be a fully released TGC plus many mods that will benefit TGC's material.
    Despite the mod is dead does not mean that anyone can use its material
    read this to avoid misunderstandings.

    IWTE tool master and world txt one like this, needed inorder to release TGC 1.0 official to help TWC to survive.
    Adding MARKA HORSES in your mod and create new varietions of them. Tutorial RESTORED.

    I'm not so sure about your "bigger equals better" principle; this may hold true for the "large" unit size setting versus "normal", but the "huge" setting is already problematic in terms of raw game limitations: neither the maps nor the buildings increase proportional to the unit size. As AnthoniusII pointed out: Siege battles become unplayable.

    Now if someone were to find a way to increase the size of maps & buildings...
