I decided to follow a proposal here in the forums so the archers have different firing angles.
I made two versions, 360 and 140.
With the 360° firing angle, archers will fire even if they are directed backwards to the enemy. There are some animation problems though, for instance, not all archers will turn back to fire, but (I think) they still fire at the enemy.
As some people have suggested, the 360° firing angle could break strategic options in the battlefield, so i made a more contained version, with a 140° firing angle ( vanilla was 120°).
All versions have two options: mod and movie.
For mod versions, extract mod_archers_360 or mod_archers_140 to your data folder ( according to the desired angle, choose only one file ) and adjust your user.script.txt located in C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application data\The Creative Assembly\Shogun 2\scripts
If you choose mod_archers_360, paste this line:
mod mod_archers_360.pack;
If you choose mod_archers_140, paste this line:
mod mod_archers_140.pack;
For AUM_SHO users:
mod aum_sho_mod.pack;
mod mod_archers_360.pack; OR mod mod_archers_140.pack;
For Darthmod users:
mod mod_archers_360.pack; OR mod mod_archers_140.pack;
mod darthmod_shogun.pack;
For AUM_SHO in conjunction with Darthmod:
mod aum_sho_mod_dms.pack;
mod mod_archers_360.pack; OR mod mod_archers_140.pack;
mod darthmod_shogun.pack;
Don't forget to save in UNICODE format.
For movie versions, simply extract to your data folder. Again, choose only one version.
Note: I haven't tested the movie format along with other mods and i don't know if it will override other mods parameters, so please post back.
