Ok, so I am using Steam and finally installed this mod after some experimenting and scouring the net and boy was it a (expletive deleted) to download and install. The intent of this post is to help others who had a hard time getting this mod downloaded and installed. I hope the 5 people that view this post of mine before it gets spammed away find it useful.
STEP 1: Download the v2.3 Torrent from http: //www. twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php ?t=448564.
(Sorry Penguin 11, the connection kept resetting when I tried to upload the main files. Maybe too big?)
STEP 2: Download BC 2.3.2 patch and 2.3.2.2 quickfix from
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=520801. BC 2.3.2 patch and 2.3.2.2 quickfix
Step 3: Open the BC 2.3 folder and double click the part 1 exe. Make sure your install location is changed to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Broken_Crescent_kingdoms
STEP 4: Repeat step 3 for part 2 and 3 exe. Part 3 exe will say something like it needs to replace the folder but just ignore it. Files inside the folder only get replaced if they are the exact same. Otherwise, files are merely added to the folder.
STEP 5: Install the patch and quickfix. Remember, as stated; "
DO NOT change installation directory to \mods directory, because the patch will not work this way." Then for the quickfix; "Installation: Just unpack 2.3.2.2_quickfix.rar into your M2TW\mods\Broken_Crescent_kingdoms\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign and start a new campaign. This is not savegame compatible." Or drag and drop the txt file to there.
STEP 6: To actually get the mod to run with Steam go and download this helpful file I found; ht tp://ww w.twcenter.net/forums/ downloads.php?do =file&id=2824. Run it, then go to file then New Mod and type in a name. Then under game exe click kingdoms. then browse to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\mods\Broken_Crescent_kingdoms then click ok.
FINAL STEP: Now start the mod through the Kingdoms launcher and click on whatever you named it. If you did everything right it wont crash.
You will have to excuse the spaces on the URLs the (expletive deleted) (expletive deleted) (expletive deleted) forum actually prevents my post if I try to (expletive deleted) give them to you.
