I thought it was obvious that they all carried Romanian flags around.

I would really appreciate if this conversation would not take place here. Thank you.

    Romania's Eurovision entries

Hotel FM - Change (Romania's Eurovision Entry 2011)

Paula Seling & Ovi - Playing With Fire (2010)

Sistem & Luminita Anghel - Let Me Try (2005)

And arguably, the most famous one of all, Tornero by Mihai Traistariu (2006).

It actually turned quite famous, the Balkans were raving about it when it came out. Tornero only came 4th in Eurovision but it was a massive commercial hit.

And while we're with music, I'm compiling a list of both traditional Romanian songs and the more...famous ones that fill today's radio stations ().

    Riding in the field

Dracula's Castle - Bran (it's actually Poenari but I'll go with the flow )

    Fields near Suceava, northern Romania

    Peles Castle (during winter)

    Carpathian mountains (mostly southeastern corner)

Several images from cities and villages

    Carpatian Mountains area again

However, the amateurs of trekking and wildcamping must be aware, probably they would not meet some werewolves or vampires but it is say that over 60% of european brown bears, grey wolves and eurasian linxes live in Romanian forests and Carpatian Mountains (the last primeval forests of Europe, except those in Ural Mountains and some in Scandinavia), more then all other countries combined, just Russia have more numbers, but well, they are something separate due to that large teritory.
Bears might be a danger, well, as long as someone is not crazy enough to walk those mountains and camp there during winter, when wolves become more dangerous (and nature and weather itself)

I prefer anyway that those areas to be keept like that, without crowds of tourists all over and kinda far from cities industrialization, a wild spot of nature where time seem like is suspended and everything looks like centuries or milleniums ago

    Nope, they are diferent castles

This is Huneadoara Castle (also called Huniad or Corvin castle)

This is real Dracula fortress, at Poienari (unfortunately is mostly in ruins after a big earthquake from last century i think, if i remember correct)

And this is the "usual" Dracula castle, Bran Castle. In fact Vlad Tepes stayied there just for short time, during his campaigns in Transilvania against Saxons

Hunyad Castle was built by Ioannes Corvinus or John Hunyadi, who received a small castle from his father and extensively upgraded it. It does look frightening, but Vlad Tepes's castle is actually Poenari. Dracula has Bran, pictured above.

Well if you're that afraid and worried then you should just stay home... Funny enough Dutch people like you will travel to anywhere in the world like Africa (especially South Africa) where crime and the other conditions are way worse than in Romania but you're all terrified of an EU member country...! Hilarious...!!!

This is about crime in Bucharest...

Bucharest's crime rate is rather low in comparison to other European capital cities, with the number of total offenses declining by 51% between 2000 and 2004.[14] The violent crime rate in Bucharest remains very low, with 11 murders and 983 other violent offenses taking place in 2007.[15] Although there have been a number of recent police crackdowns on organized crime gangs, such as the Cămătaru clan, organized crime generally has little impact on public life. Petty crime, however, is more common, particularly in the form of pickpocketing, which occurs mainly on the city's public transport network. Confidence tricks were sometimes common in the 1990s, especially in regards to tourists, but the frequency of these tricks has declined in recent years. Levels of crime are higher in the southern districts of the city, particularly in Ferentari, a socially-disadvantaged area.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bucharest#Crime

Bucharest, about 11 murders a year in a city of 1944000 people...! How does your Amsterdam compare...???

Amsterdam does have a high crime rate. Poverty amongst a relatively large percentage of the population likely plays a role. So does the presence of tourists. Pickpockets and other thieves have their hands full, so to speak.
Much crime in Amsterdam is of a different nature, though. In recent years, a revenge-war amongst top criminals has resulted in a number of assassinations — with hits often taking place in public.
    http://www.dutchamsterdam.nl/162-amsterdam-livability

    AND a statistic...

crime is rampant in Amsterdam, the rate of deaths caused by crime rate was 1.22% per 100,000, where as
    http://www.allamsterdam.nl/article/3...Amsterdam.html

So that is about 1220 deaths from crime a year...! That is 100000 * .0122 = 1220 for those who don't know how I got the number... Although... the statistic seems high and if right probably includes death from all crimes including drunk driving etc... and not just murder.

In Bucharest, I felt safe pretty much anywhere and I walked around at night between midnight and 3:00 AM without any worries... Granted, I was with friends but it is common to see street cleaners working and people returning home from late night work all by themselves. Overall, at night it is a very quiet city without much traffic...
