Bear in mind that you make things as personal as you want to make them. Btw I rep'd you the other day for making a good point so dont assume Im just singling you out to pick on you.
It`s amazing how quickly some people will forget what you did for them on a forum. That`s why, in most cases, I say `there`s no honour among forumers`.

Basically, don`t expect anyone to remember or appreciate what you may have done for them recently, even if you stick your name on the rep, whatever.

There are exceptions but this is a good rule to bear in mind.
A plea to CA: Please give us NON-STEAM OPTIONS such as with GOG.COM`s Alan Wake and Witcher 2, etc. Even allow a system such that Mount and Blade Uses. Many of us will pay extra for a Steam-free version of RTW2.
The use of STEAM-ONLY by CA is ethically wrong because:
    1. It does not need to be forced. It could be optional as other games have proven.
    2. It discriminates between internet users and non-users or those who simply do not want it.
    3. The `advantages` are only advantages in a very small and superficial manner. They do not counter the disadvantages.
    4. It suits the company way more than the user. We are simply told it`s better for us
Finally,I shall not give CA|SEGA my money for RTW2 while it forces Steam on me. They have given us no good reason why it must be so. Basically they don`t care.

A Steam Option would benefit ALL. Don`t fight us, JOIN us.
    Games don`t need forced Steam

Sorry not buying constructive criticism. Unfriendly/hostile post start on page one of this thread. Are you being fair-minded, and after your last post I question wether you're even capable of understanding what's civility and lack of civility.

How many times did I repeatedly explain myself? Still endeavour to explain myself. Never mind the harassment. Answering the same antagonistic/argumentative posts? Peruse this fact rather than frantically trying to validate/excuse your offensive/provocative behaviour.

I guess I am a real baby, because I am offended by you and your like.

fyi I love to listen to opposing views/constructive criticism, and that was the point in my posting.*

Not to wade through you and your likes mental excrement.

*(I have also acquiesced, numerous times that I may be tough to follow, and apologised for as much, when dealt with reasonably or questioned courteously.)
Lol, you're little rep thing says you can't handle the truth.

    Icon11 philosophical crap unclear sentences...

Extended-periods-of-silence awkwardness, maybe I'm hastening too much, growing ever weary of 'saying' oh so much; somewhat abruptly? Moreover something I've had to repeat many times, (for no real reason.) In this speedy approach yes I'm not taking care with my grammar. Sorry about that. I am nonetheless taking time, if not care.

Awkward posts are my area of expertise. stewie39 ..Excuse! me i dont', follow'?,.;wHat it is your sayING.
    the horror OCWife

^personally I would take this any day of the week,

    over:

sdjenkyn stewie39 can't you be more cryptic? get to the point bro, DA POINT! besides philosophical crap can you say something that actually makes sense? seriously
cut the small talk, and say your thoughts in clear sentences. i don't really get what you want here.

That said sdjenkyn I actually do admire where you went with your last post.
Kid gloves maybe not, civility would be enough; you be the judge.

This move is only for those experienced in the art of kicking people when they're down OCWife sure, most people can presume they are being helpful, but it requires real time and effort to be such a parsimonious champion of the semantics of grammars, generative formal grammar...
    I apologise have mercy.

Everywhere I turn, people are trying to make me feel uncomfortable. Why shouldn’t they? In most cases, it’s pretty much ing hilarious.
I try to be awkward as often as I can. When I smell the stale stench of a forum full of self-loathing, ulterior motives and false pretenses, I spring into action. Awkward posts are my area of expertise. They are my Raison d'ętre. Your welcome.

Is this really an invitation to treat anybody badly and insult them?

Good lord no and nor should anyone do such a thing. Your posts have been something of an anomaly here and granted I jumped on it with both feet. Unfortunately things escalated but I can see where you are coming from most of the time and respect the fact that its delivered in an unorthodox manner. Hopefully you will grant a clean slate and except that we now understand ourselves a little better in the context of these forums.

At least you admit you're a troll (in too many words, I might add). Admission is the first step to recovery.

If you get similar responses and criticisms in every thread you post, it may not be that the forum is full of angry, mean-spirited people. Perhaps something you're doing is also to blame. I can't really think of anything specific, but it seems more plausible than assuming most people who post here are jerks.

Though that is entirely possible, I have to say. Some of the sheer rage that goes on in the MP forum is just crazy.

Alot of work is needed to fix Shogun II. Is it worth it? I don't know. But what I do know is that if CA is actually going to try and fix it up (which I doubt they will), they're going to have to stop developing whatever they're developing behind the scenes right now, and use that labor for fixing this game.
You cannot pick and choose what to follow from your holy books. If you are truly a Christian, you must follow the bible by the letter. One read through Leviticus, where the disabled are barred from Church attendance, and homosexuals should be the least of your worry. It's the whole book or none of it, and to follow the whole book is to be immoral.
    So it goes.

True words Date Harumune. As for myself I feel at this juncture that the proverbial boat has sailed, and only hope that they develop something with more: wonderment, grander, ambition?

As a polite citizen of the twc, consider this notice, I won't be responding/offering retorts, to any further Gambletribe/OCWiferant,,...!''"(?)
I, as do almost everybody I'm sure, have more important things to do: watching mountains age, continents drift, paint dry...

...enjoy your inconsequential pickings, and nasty disposition.
Try taking your own advice, and make yourself scarce.

You wont of course, I am nobodies fool, it's not in your miserable characters, hence my notice, like lepers of old you crones are to be shunned. Can't say its been...

...well much of anything really, hope you find the depression you seem to yearn.

The key to this is salvage some dignity and go.

Okay. If you can't tell the difference between someone offering constructive criticism and a troll, who am I to try and help you?

After all, I am a fool with a nasty disposition and a miserable character, who yearns for depression (?). While also being a crone (...?)

I bow to your vastly superior intellect and charming disposition, disarming your critics with a laugh and a gentle wave, never embracing the traits you so thoroughly despise in others. Good day old bean!

Stewie, stop writing poetry and start writing prose. A game forum is not an appropriate place for angsty ramblings and overblown melodrama -- save it for your romance novels.

    'Taking Internetz Too Srs' guilty.
    I have Stepped on up.

Why? I am sick of the detractors, not for myself, but for the soo many voices that either remain unheard, or give up because of these idiotic miserable few, who fool themselves into believing that their venom and insults are in any way constructive.

You make your point as you wish, kudos Finnegan.

Allow me and everybody else to make their's, fair enough?

{Drum roll please} Let everybody speak, here... ...the entire Internetz? A little much, but wht not?
Is it too much to ask? To hold back on the bile? Before you blast away, not everybodies as durable as the 'uncomplaining' Finnegan.

Give people a go, treat them with civility. Give them a chance. Not everybodies prepared to wether a storm when posting about a game. Get a grip people.

    After much...

My personal opinion about the game Shogun2, at long last.

No sir I didn't like it.
For right or wrong, good or evil...
...I expect more from CA, the same company that has been a 3 star Michelin resturant, (exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.)

Shogun2 is a little too T.G.I. Friday's, Délifrance, Sizzler...; an admirable, well above average T.G.I. Friday's, Délifrance, Sizzler...
    ...still a significant step down.

The new DLC looks at face value to be a bit of a rip-off, and I think CA know this, wait of course they know this what am I saying.
Quit squeezing TW gamers CA, we will probably buy the dlc it's not that much after all, really? But I would probably have brought it without the already highly suspect hampering of the original game.
Whoever's advising them at present is such a short sighted !
Don't think this is too inconsistent, as I said I am only against the current obvious shackling of Total War.
Part of me even hopes at this stage that they do make a load, and then altruistically pump it back into their next effort, taking her back to the higher level she once called home.
Its a dream Timmy, but we've all gotto dream...

Fly little Total War, Fly little Total War...

Yes and the DLC ikko ikki proves we're headed down a bad path. The only faction with a different religion its own custom units an intro movie. Wow.... Hopefully in R2TW you only get to play carthage and they make you buy the other 8 factions as DLC.. now thats genius marketing.

Yeah ahh... -thanks Darkpriest667, now you've given them that idea!!!
Caution people. Be aware, this isn't a private conversation? We are not alone...
    loose lips...

...as you've already spilt the proverbial milk, curse you Darkpriest667!!! What about a further, ruthlessly limited unit roster, 3/4 units a faction, and if we're going to stick with the RTW2 theme; Marian reforms DLC, Carthage War elephant dlc.
Sword dlc; yes you guessed it with vanilla your entire faction will have to fight with their hands until you unlock a dlc sword pack...

I can see the Sega guys mashing away on their evil little Blackberries...

God I hope this seething and bluster doesn't turn out to be further prophetic ramblings.

For once I actually enjoyed reading a thread in this forum - there still seems to exist the art of saying things the old and well travelled way. Not well known anymore, alas, the more to cherish.

Apart from this, a little tip: use the last digits of the youtube link (PWBJsQOmmGs) and embed it with the youtube link button in the advanced mode.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Good, this thread has actually got back to the topic, let's all ignore the 50 or so posts in the middle.

Stewie, you made a point a while back that the units lack diversity. I completely agree with you on this, even if the factions are all from the same culture, CA could have mixed it up a bit. They don't need to be wildly different, just more diverse.

Yet i can understand why they did what they did, any changes to units would have been largely superficial, changing armor here, maybe altering stats or unit numbers or whatever. And if they had done this, people would still be here complaining ,wanting more. I not sticking up for them, but if CA had created the greatest game ever, then this thread would still be in existence...
