when fighting a unit of spearmen. send one unit from the front to attack. then send another round the side to attack thier rear. this way there's only a few left before they realise the threat. Works everytime, for me at least.
what a revalation!

be nice.....he was just saying something he found out and wanted to share it with the world. Yea that is a good strategy for taking down almost any unit, its usually referred to as "flanking".

yeh, although we've all known this here for quite a long time, its quite relieving when you first find out how to get past those buggers of phalanxes.
He's new here, give him a chance. But this is fairly old news (worked since medival TW )
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
You mean it didn't work in Shogun??
(I never played that one)
But it depends... if there are two or three phalanx, it works. But if there are more than your units, it won't work well. The best thing actually is stand and wait the phalanx come, and run besides it and attack immediatly. As most time the phalanx is slow to turn its way, most of time it would switch to sword mod, and you can more easier to take it down.
