    Well Portugal will have generic units available to the other European factions, with variations where we have information. The marines are the only unique regimental uniform that is known about for the 17th century i.e. green with yellow cuffs/stockings. Apart form that we know almost all the infantry from 1667 onwards wore blue. So that is what we will have to go on I'm afraid because Portuguese uniforms are so poorly documented in the 17th century. Wel also know the lobster-por helmet was sometimes used (because of Pedro II's harquebusier armour in a museum) and that post-independence, most sashes were green or green-and-white.

    Wonderful models! This seems the only XVII century mod keeping on evolving, and I have to say it is getting more and more promising!
    The only unit I am not really sure of is General bodyguards - they look a bit too 1400, don't they? But I don't want to criticize, as I am only a supporter.

    Thanks demostene. The generals are based on early cuirassier officers. We are replacing the cuirassiers with an edited model based on the v_cuirassier model.

    I agree they would be out of place for the late period though so we will have to consider that.

    Very late French/Spanish pikemen will have armour. The other factions will only have light pikemen if any at all for the very late period. French grenadiers will have tricornes, with Santa-style hats and then perhaps mitres for the English,mitres for most European factions, and bearhats for the Bavarians. The Dutch used both bearhats and mitre caps so either will do for them. The horse grenadiers are a different story. The English had lobster-helmets, the Bavarians bearhats etc.

    The units are beautiful, extremely impressive, although I'd like to echo Flikitos' small suggestion.

    Also, will we be seeing special vessels like the Sovereign of the Seas or the Soleil Royal? I swear I'm in love with that ship

    I was wondering - what about the Ottoman rooster? Are you going to use some of the wonderful Ottoman Realizm units, or maybe Adrian's Barotto units? Or are you planning to create your own ottoman rooster?

    Another question about the Ottomans: are you sure you are willing to make Syria an English indirect colony? It is a bit an overestimation of the Levant Company, don't you think so? They had no political controlo on Syria...

    One last thing: are you planning any modification to the CAI, or will it be vannilla?

    Early cuirassiers (including cuirassier lancers) will be based on an edited version of Adrianb74's cuirassier model (the English version will be slightly different and can be seen in the second picture below, with less plate and some mail on the arms).     I get your point on the Levant Company but I think the plan is for it to be an Ottoman Protectorate. Yes I plan to use some of Adrian's units. But according to an Osprey book I have about the 1683 siege of Vienna, Ottoman uniforms were unchanged from the 15th to 19th century.

    Well did you try "Run as Administrator" for Steam? I have never tried that mod but this fixes most CTDs in my experience with ETW.
