    Remove all other mods from the Data folder. Run Steam as Administrator. Launch Modmanager.

    I will look again at upkeep costs in the next release. You can recruit light and medium pikemen which are cheaper. They were far more common in the 17th century because of cost.

    just want to give a headsup that the startpos mod seems a little broken. doesn't seem to work on a clean install ,strange.

    Make sure you have the latest one. It works fine for me but there earlier startpos' are also still up if you want to try them. Follow installation instructions here and read here for tips to avoid CTDs.
