Ancient China / Three Kingdom's total war would be interesting, a lot of factions and history to explore.
Could someone please tell me what's so special about romeII?
I' personly hoping for Pike and Shot
A 1500-1680 Total War FTW!!!
U guys are blind. Next game will be Victorian Total War with world map. Keep dreaming on Rome 2.

^ Nope, I don't agree.
Because the Roman era is one of the most (if not the most) popular and well known in the Western world; where the gaming market is the largest (I'd assume it's quite well known and popular in the east too), and where CA is located. Not only that, it also features a huge variety of factions and fighting styles (phalanx, maniple, barbarian, steppes). Finally, it is also integrated into pop culture very strongly, driving the above points.
Cocroach is also correct, Rome deserves a sequel; it's quite old and outdated now (despite the great efforts of modders behind RS2 etc.) and is ripe for a refresh, being the only TW game without a sequel whilst also being the most favoured of TW games (not in terms of sales figures though, that was ETW). Rome was certainly the game that brought me into the TW series properly, I did play Shogun but it was a bit of a "meh" for me as I was so young, and there are many others on these forums that were also brought into it by Rome.
According to this poll, 80%* of TGW fans agree that "The mod team is devilishly handsome" *as of 12/10 (its true )
My specs:
CPU - Intel i5 4670k @3.8 GHz | GPU - MSI GEFORCE GTX 770 LIGHTNING 2GB GDDR5 | RAM - 8GB DDR3 1600MHZ | MOBO - Z87 | HDD - 1TB | SSD - SAMSUNG 840 PRO SERIES 256GB SOLID STATE HARD DRIVE 2.5" | PSU - 750W | CASE - COOLERMASTER ENFORCER | MONITOR - 24" IIYAMA
there is no need for any sequels of any previous TW games as iv had enought with the older ones i want one thats new with new factions and a diferent setting other than japan or europe its all old now after like7 games now so a china total war would be refreshing rome in my opinion is a good game but not really deserving of another sequel because i bet they will focus on graphics alot more than gameplay wich is what i admired in rome the gameplay was unique and interesting
It doesn't matter what we want, CA will do what they think will sell best and it will be based on Shogun 2 - smallish map, limited (similar) units.
So .. ,yes, the next TW will probably be Rome but will have a limited map and unit types, and lots of water for ships thus portas is probably right .. we'll get a Roman campaign game .. possibly Punic 2 or Civil wars?
Thankfully CA have competition not only from modders so we'll soon see what will be best.

oOo
Rome 2 refugee ...
oOo
Thinking about it, the next TW will likely be a standalone expansion on Warscape...For the next "full" title I would still say Rome2 though.

yes,i hope that the next totalwar game based in rome epoch and focused in the second punic war with this strategic map very detail and with all historical provinces, tribes, colonies and kingdoms of the zone as shogun 2,not rebel faction.
with a total for example of 12 gaul tribes from south gaul,5 cisalpine celt tribes, republic rome, republic carthage,3 numidians tribes,2 north african tribes,12 iberian tribes,3 lusitanian tribes,4 celtiberian tribes,6 celt tribes from iberian peninsula,5 greek colonies, kingdom epiro and 2 ilirian tribes. total in campaing 56 factions in the game every faction with exclusive units and tree tech, with all historical general and prominent persons, historical events and 1 week for turn.
