The fact they`re onto another Total War so quickly is not really a good sign. Sure, I know some of you don`t care as usual because it may your fave RTW2 or a `European` Total War game.
But I doubt quite as many of you would be so pleased if you heard this news after barely 2 months of Rome Total War 2 release.
Which will probably now happen.
A plea to CA: Please give us NON-STEAM OPTIONS such as with GOG.COM`s Alan Wake and Witcher 2, etc. Even allow a system such that Mount and Blade Uses. Many of us will pay extra for a Steam-free version of RTW2.
The use of STEAM-ONLY by CA is ethically wrong because:
1. It does not need to be forced. It could be optional as other games have proven.
2. It discriminates between internet users and non-users or those who simply do not want it.
3. The `advantages` are only advantages in a very small and superficial manner. They do not counter the disadvantages.
4. It suits the company way more than the user. We are simply told it`s better for us
Finally,I shall not give CA|SEGA my money for RTW2 while it forces Steam on me. They have given us no good reason why it must be so. Basically they don`t care.
A Steam Option would benefit ALL. Don`t fight us, JOIN us.
Games don`t need forced Steam

Total War Rome 2
CIVITATVS CVM AVGVSTVS XVI, MMVI
A little early for this, isn't it? They haven't even started to nickel and dime us for useless DLC no one cares about.
"Et tu, Croute?" - last words of Romaine dictator Julius Caesar Salad to his friend Marcus Croutonus at the moment of his murder by tossing.
Fantasy:Total War - any fantasy setting ... Faerun ... Krynn ... Shannarra ... Westeros
RTW2 is interesting but I like Mongol: TW or Ming:Total war than![]()
Dude, stop now, you are failing hard. First off the limits to transistor size are two things, one of them is heat but thats not the major problem anymore, the big problem is electron "jumping" in quantum mechanics which circumnavigates a chips gates (things that let current flow for a 0 or 1) so problems occur. YET we are still getting smaller, for example intel nehalem i3/i5/i7 was 40nm. Sandybridge is 32nm, ivybridge at the end of this year will be 28nm. At the same time nvidia kepler will be 28nm followed by a 22nm in end of 2012/start 2013.
The trend has started again - the reason we lost ghz the last few years is because of the problems stated which have now been circumnavigated, they will pop up again in a few years but until then we can again increase clock speeds AND cores which was and is the easiest/cheapest way to circumnavigate this problem.
As for power - I dont know if you cant comprehend english, or just cant type but in 4 years it would be 8x more powerful, you see when a number doubles every year, starting with 1, in 4 years it will be 8x more powerful. In anycase its every 18months and its called Moore's Law.http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...Law_-_2011.svg
Also barbarian invasion hordes could bring like 20-30k+ troops on the field, I never said it performed well. But the point is we are talking about raw power, the devs arent good enough programmers to harness it though (look at the crap DX11 implementation).
How is this big news? CA are always working on a new game![]()
According to this poll, 80%* of TGW fans agree that "The mod team is devilishly handsome" *as of 12/10 (its true)
While I still think that Rome TW is among th top 3 best games EVER, and I would die for a sequel, I hope they are not going to make Rome 2 next.
because I don't think that the current engine, and then especially the current campaign map gameplay, would suit Rome.
I think, the best thing CA could do right now is make a new engine, or dramaticly overhaul the campaign aspect of the current one, then test that new system by first making ancient greece TW and then Rome 2.
For Rome we Conquer!!!!(also for Sparta,
)
it would be awesome if they did a Greece Total War, but i doubt they would ever do something like that
imagine a map full of city states that can easily be expanded with the much hated DLC's
i'm pretty sure i'm alone on this one but hey what can i dothe mod The Greek Wars is my inspiration
to a full fledged TW game![]()
nope... rome will be on it's 10 year annerversary
we will be getting some'n fresh... some'n they can test a new engine out on prior to their release of R2![]()
lol I like the features bit.
To each his own - Left is right - and sanity is but an illusion.
I love this quote:
They forgot to add that this was a time whenThe Total War series has traditionally been a series that sells well in the longterm. Shogun 2, which was released two months ago, has sold over 600, 000 copies, but according to Simpson, "The original Shogun sold more copies in the second three years of its existence than it did in its first three years."
-TW games were moddable and new buyers were attracted by mods as well
-a new TW game did not come out every year
-you didn't need a third party software installed to play it.
I want
East Asia - Campaigns (China, Mongolia, Korea, Siam) → something like M2-Kingdoms
Europe - Thirty Years' War (17th-century), ...
Rome 2 and Sparta campaign
Total War: Fantasy (LotR,...)

What about 1500-1680 TW?
A 1500-1680 Total War FTW!!!
