I tend to have two game shortcuts, one for all my mods, and one with no mods that I use for online play. The amount of custom content for this game is really great though, and I really like messing around with the editor:

It has to be the Combined ops script which is ed.
Well you could try starting up the game through use of Yoma Addon Sync. Read the instructions in the thread linked to learn how to use Combined Arms with it. It also allows you to start modfolders through it for use with Combined Arms.

I've used ever since Operation Arrowhead came out and it really solves a lot of headaches with compatibility with Combined Arms and mods for me, and it is easier than making a dozen .bat files and more organized.

That's completely fine with me. Lots of learning to do and plenty of content to explore this way.

Yeah, I agree. I know it's not that much cash, but I just bought a new graphics card and I think that my Department of Appropriations will not put too much more into my budget . One day, one day...

Myself, Nevins, Danny and Katsumoto did some Co-op tonight. Here is what we did and some screenshots to go with it:

The first map took place on the Island of Utes, here we had to kill two smugglers and destroy a bunch of fuel tanks. We took this snazzy red car and got out near the coastline so we could head into forest to see what we were up against:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

We took positions in the forest and noticed there were dozens of enemies in the small village. A large group was massed on the outskirts by some trucks. We didn't have many options so we just picked targets and unleashed hell upon them. RAWR
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

It actually went really well, we completely annihilated some 30 or so enemies but as we moved up, more and more kept coming, some police officer also came by and killed Danny with a pistol. It was going pretty and it just got more as the two guys we were suppose to kill were sailing away in a boat.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

In our next mission, we had to walk ing miles to some old harbour where a group of insurgents were storing APCs, Tanks, AA Trucks and AT jeeps. It really was ing miles, I'm not even joking. We spent a fair bit of time sneaking around like little weasels in the woodlands as we headed towards our objective.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

We also came across several enemy patrols on our way, especially in nearby towns. We avoided all of them as we didn't want to draw any unnecessary and die, especially after walking 500 ing miles.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

We eventually got close enough to our objective and the number of enemies around was fairly high now. We took position on a little hill to see if we could find the vehicles we were suppose to sabotage with our satchels, but we didn't see . We had to go in, quickly spotting a two man patrol at one of the entrances. As we got closer, Nevins was shot by them. He walked ing miles just to die. It must have been very frustrating. Meanwhile I killed two guys hanging in some car.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

After Nevins unfortunate death, we moved away from our position to the north. Katsumoto rather smartly climbed to the top of a tower and spotted enemy movements as me and Danny progressed deeper into the docks. There was some nice teamwork going on at this point, it was really cool.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Unfortunately, Katsumoto had to leave so it was only myself and Danny left. Luckily, we had remained rather silent throughout our mission and managed to kill most of the enemies on the northern side of the base while the rest remained rather unaware. It was not long until we found the APCs in a warehouse by the docks, and after checking the rest of the warehouses, we soon found the rest of our objectives. We lay down satchels, retreated, and watched on as the warehouses burned.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Just to show how ing long our walk was, by the time we had finished our mission, the sun had risen. After completing our objectives, we had to head down to the evac point but we noticed a machine gun emplacement looking over the seas. We sneaked up to them, and Danny said 'Take a screenie', straight after, they turned around and nearly shot us but we finished them before they could do so. We then waited as a little old boat picked us up after our successful mission.

Yeah, I am still livid about that epic trek to dying as soon as we closed with the enemy.

Was a tonne of fun, we really must find more stealth missions like that, was awesome sneaking around.

The right side of the last screenshot has to be my favourite, you can see the shell casings falling.

I enjoy realism simulators, but my god, trying to do even the simplest of tasks is like trying to navigate Microsoft Excel.

I want to get into it, but the incredible amount of clicks and menus I have to navigate just to do the easiest stuff is mind boggling.

Sigh, I just need more time with this...

Yeah, I have spent pretty much the whole day just making things fight in the battle simulator (like 100 Supply trucks vs 20 A-10s while I watch in a civvie heli). I don't know quite what you're on about for the menus and stuff, but if you don't have someone helping you out it can definitely be intimidating just moving about

Did you do the tutorials? If so, then jump right into ArmA II, and make a point to have your squad do everything. Best way to learn is to play the game. I found ArmA II's plot intriguing, and that's what kept me going through the dry parts.

We are going to have one just now if you want.

As for any other time, its just a matter of asking someone really theres not a set time people just pop up asking for a game.

Damn this thread has made me tempted to try this game again. Everytime i get frustrated with the sticky controls and i end up giving up, which is annoying as it's the sort of game i should like.

Man cool AAR. I can't wait to get into this and help out. I'm probably going to get so pissed off early on haha. I like to see a game where you actually need the NVGs. In too many games they have NVGs but you don't really need them or they are more of a hindrance. Cool to see those screens through the NVG glow. I really want to snipe though. Is there room for such a chap on the team?
