First, I've modified the Spanish cuirassier (Pom's Spain Mod) to create an early XVIIIth century for Geronimo2006 Danish Mod.
The DAN_CAV_model is composed of SP_CAV_cuirassier with a new helmet and a new body (except breastplate that is the same).
The 3D model look OK with UU3D, even when animated.
It look OK too ingame.
The diffuse texture look good too, but we (Geronimo2006 and I) have problems with gloss texture.
When using the gloss texture, shadow faces are completely black.
Maybe is it a problem with dds file, maybe a problem with some model parameters ?
I can't edit the dds files (I use Paint.NET, not Photoshop), when I open the file, I didn't see the alpha channel.
I will post pictures later, Geronimo's2006 photobucket exceed its bandwith.
You can find DAN_CAV_cuirassier files here :
- reworked helmet and breastplate UVMap :
Total War Center Forums > Downloads > Empire: Total War > Skins & Models > DAN_CAV_cuirassier for Geronimo2006
old lod1 model :
Total War Center Forums > Downloads > Empire: Total War > Miscellaneous > For Geronimo2006 : DAN_CAV_cuirassier lod1
Second, I have had problem with vertex groups names.
My first question is : How should they be named ?
Most of them are labelled : hat0x, body0x, etc.
Should they all use such labels or is it possible to use any word as a label.
For instance : fr_cravatte01, fr_cravatte02.
My second question is : How must I name vertex groups when I want to use 2 or 3 model variants.
For instance, I want to use 2 different helmets but they use the same texture, if I name them DAN_CAV_helmet01 and DAN_CAV_helmet02 should I have unit using one or another and not both simultaneously ?
Thanks for help![]()
