Hi,
Is it not possible to use the PFM to edit the files? Such as Unit_Tables?
I have been reading through the forums about using the HxD program, but that is beyond my understanding sadly.
I recall using the PFM in Empire: Total War to alter and then extract files, which the game would register and use. In Shogun 2, i open up the pack files, change the unit recruitment lengths to 1 turn and increase some of the squad sizes, but when i extract the file it does not register.
I have gone into all of the pack files (and the data pack), altered the files in the pack and saved it down. When i re-open any of these, they still have the same values. Larger unit sizes, 1 turn recruitments and slightly cheaper recruitment costs.
So the extracted files have been changed, the pack files have been changed. Bu when i open up the game they are still at the standard settings!
Is there a file somewhere i must alter which changes where the game gets it's information from? (i.e. It looks up from the extracted files rather than the Pack files).
HxD is beyond me - i have seen the main forum post with a brief walktrhough of how to use it, but i still don't understand the Hex values, which is why i have tried the PFM (i love the simplicity of it).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
