Europe is getting so overused and just because Rome 1 was good doesn't mean Rome 2 will wipe the floor out of the others. Sequels usually suck lol. All CA needs to do is not half do this game like Empire. Empire would be the **** with mods. Lets face it, mods have been proven to enhance repeatability. People praise Rome so much because it has mods. After MTW2, we had to get used to just the vanilla campaign and we didn't like that at all.

Back on topic though.

If I had a say on what their next game would be, it would likely be Rome.Its financially viable, guranteed to generate industry buzz, and there are many who would buy it out of sheer nostalgia of the original Rome Total War. Financially, its a safe bet. And in business a safe bet means at minimum a small profit. So kudos go to that plan.

Though if I also had my say, I would also spend at least 6-8 months either completely overhauling the Warscape engine, or bite the bullet and spend a year or two building a new engine from scratch.

Then a month of hard research and design meetings, and a nice 8-10 month development cycle.

Then BAM. Total War: Rome 2 in 2 - 2 1/2 years tops.

But then again, I am not a production lead and cannot set Creative Assembly Timetables...

Should have a TW Colonialism. Pick your favorite European nation and take over bits of Africa, Vietnam, India, The Philippines ect.

if it has to be eurocentric themed, i'd rather see renaissance. the period hasn't been used yet, and it's not a period dominated by gunpowder. actually weapon wise it's very much like how shogun TW is

chinese romance of the three kingdoms TW would be very cool, but they'd have to really flesh out officers and duels to capture the story i think

Actually, I wouldn't really care what they put out next, but rome 2. Just give us world map for Empire and Napoleon.

Try Victoria 2, it basicly has what you just described.


A Romance of the Three Kingdom's TW would be sweet, though i doubt there'd be a market for that in Europe/America. Second on my list would be Total War - Rome 2

Sounds a bit like Victoria II to me!

The next TW (Post any Shogun expansions/DLC) I feel will be Rome II - the money windfall could be huge for CA on such a project compared to any other option.

No. Total War must be in Asia next, like an Onin War/Rise of Ming/Rise of Joseon/Random Indochina Wars thing. Around late 14th century.

Lots of obscure stuff. Lots of exotic things, but most of all since its all a mystery, its damn interesting.

I wouldn't mind a Victorian era TW , good opportunity to correct history and take back the colonies from the rebels.
