In the scene where Joffrey forces Sansa to view the heads of Ned and his entourage on spikes, one of the prosthetic heads briefly seen in profile is that of former U.S. president George W. Bush. In their commentary on the DVD release of season 1, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss explained that this was not meant as a political statement, but rather because the production used the prosthetic heads that happened to be at hand. Following media reports in June 2012, HBO apologized for this shot, which their statement described as "unacceptable, disrespectful and in very bad taste". The statement also said that the shot would be edited for any future home video production[8] and TV broadcasts. HBO removed the episode from digital download services until the scene was edited.[9] In the edited scene, the head now bears no resemblance to Bush.

Sad news about the actor that plays Payne.

Another actor that I thought was perfect that will have to be recast.

I heard they recast Grandmaester Pycelle due to his deteriorating health as well.

Where did you hear this? I heard that Ciaran Hinds will portray Oberyn Martell next season, with some heavy makeup to cover him up

Thanks for pointing out the obvious lie. My point was, anyone can say "I heard" and that's how rumors are spread.

    Valar Morghulis.

    You are 100% correct.

When I initially read that I must have reversed the interpretation.

Good news, since I think General Veers does a good job as Pycelle.

In my mind, I think the Red Wedding should be the very last episode. Just imagine ending it for a full year on that.

But I also envision the series open, too. I highly doubt it would open this way, but I think it would be spectacular while not being too expensive:

    Spoiler:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
black screen. Sound of a White scream. Extreme close-up of one shrieking in our faces, back to black. Sounds of men screaming and horses screaming. Shot of men running one direction, followed by blood and body parts of wights. Back to black. More scenes of blatant genocide, all set to the music of Whites and Crows screaming. Total sequence 10-15 seconds.

Then cut to King's Landing or someplace else.
I run the Game of Thrones TV Wiki, which requires keeping on top of the rumours, set reports and news, as well as being in direct contact with HBO themselves (occasionally).

In this case, various fansites had reports from some of the extras drafted in for a certain scene, and what episode that scene was being filmed for.

I always liked giants. Is this season they will show giants? How should they look? Is there any sneak preview at least on concept art or art derection they are going for the giants?

Think of a human, but at a size which Toho would find offensive... their pointy swords should cheer him up though

I can't wait for this series simply because of

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The Red Wedding. The effect it will have on non book-reading Stark fanboying will be hilarious, just like with Ned Stark.
Not that I'm trying to be snobby about having read the books, it's just a large focus has been put on Rob in the previous series, whereas in the books he was never really built up as a direct character much and was never a POV character.
I hope they include the head-sewing in all its glory.
