This show may be one of the best this year. I enjoyed the first episode, and the acting was excellent on all parts. Sean Bean once again giving an awesome performance and in my opinion he is probably one of the most underrated actors out there, this man is amazing in every film i have seen him in, even when the film itself is absolute crapola.

I'm new to this series, but I've instantly fallen in love with it just two episodes in. I haven't felt the need to dive into a fictional world so badly in a long time, what with looking up backstory, finding political maps, etc. My only problem is I remembered this mod after having started watching the show and the first place I went to was the FAQ.... Oops. I realize it's mostly my fault, and I'm always careful to avoid spoilers, but damn stumbling onto huge surprises when you're not familiar with the source material at all sucks.

Glad to know it's been picked up for a second season though, I can't wait till next week.

The worst part about GoT being renewed for a second season is that
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Sean Bean won't be in it

I know! I totally agree, it's going to be especially hard to get to that part considering how great he is.

The only things that bother me so far are:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    1) Cersei states that she lost a son? A black-haired one? WTF? It invalidates the prophecy of the Maegi woman, as well as her character...it did put me off a little.
    2) MORE DIREWOLVES, DAMN YOU!

Because clearly Cersei is renowned for her honesty

The reason they've scripted that in is pretty obvious when you think about it. With all the plot-threads and machinations in the narrative, it becomes hard to translate to the screen or the viewer (especially new ones) might get lost. They could have simplified the actual story or they could have made subtleties less subtle. In my opinion they went for the latter, and have just stuck in a blatant hint into the real parents of Cersei's brood. She clearly states "black-haired boy", and I reckon quite a lot of viewers new to the series will have picked up on the fact all her kids are blatantly blonde.

In the books, she got an abortion when Robb got her pregnant. I'm wondering if she commited infanticide here...

The series is great, it makes the Lord of the Rings film trilogy look like a cheap joke -especially the acting which far outshines the likes of Orlando Bloom

Yeah I'm glad they found an alternative to Sean Bean. I mean,

Anyone who has not checked out this site needs to. They have pretty regular updates about the show, one of the latest included something from penny arcade, Jason Momoa (Drogo) talking about raping his friends (as drogo, its pretty funny), and Gregor, the Mountain that Rides, joining the fight against illegal downloading!

Are you kidding? The LOTR movies are some of the best cinematic masterpieces ever...

I agree, but some things... And now Im thinking mainly of SuperLegolas Adventures here... I mean, come on! Skateboarding down stairs while fireing at a machinegun rate, climbing and bringing down a Mūmakil singlehandedily... In the books, he was an supernaturally expert marksman, but not a kids show superhero.

Absolutely! I mean Legolas wasn`t Fingolfin or Feanor.

Oh god Fingolfin! Now, that would be an epic movie.

Hell yeah! Now that's an HERO. Alone, marching up against one of the gods and scarring the bastard for LIFE. SEVEN TIMES. Or the Gondolin Lord Glorfindel who bested the Lord of the Balrogs, Gothmog. Legolas is like a kid streetskateboarder compared to those hardcore Navy SEALS.

Yeah, of course, Legolas, lol. But no one can deny that the LOTR movies are unique. I'm not saying this as a fanboy, but I've watched the whole behind the scenes thing, all the work, attention to detail, everything, the way they brought Middle Earth to life, altough imperfect or changed in a number of ways, is something unparalelled.
