Oh hey look it's CA not keeping their word again....
Yes it will be released in time in first week of may.
No it will be slightly late.
No it will be released much later.
No it will never be released.
I dont care anymore because promises have been broken.
I hope he is not lying (for serious). I want to start playing again.
Keep in mind that Steam has quite a varied pricing strategy. They have frequent sales, bonus offers, etc. Even for brand new games, sometimes you get the 10% off for a preorder or a free gift, there's also the price drops, the four packs and of course their huge sales. They aren't keeping the full retail price to screw with people, it's probably price discrimination instead.
Merged.

Free stuff is good. Or to play as Hattori would be cool. Or people that own Napoleon get the pre-order units.
Seems to me if there`s no box, disc or manual and yet games are still selling at normal boxed release prices, somebody, somewhere is making a killing from all those Steam downloaders... I bet he`s still laughing now- All the way to the bank.
A plea to CA: Please give us NON-STEAM OPTIONS such as with GOG.COM`s Alan Wake and Witcher 2, etc. Even allow a system such that Mount and Blade Uses. Many of us will pay extra for a Steam-free version of RTW2.
The use of STEAM-ONLY by CA is ethically wrong because:
1. It does not need to be forced. It could be optional as other games have proven.
2. It discriminates between internet users and non-users or those who simply do not want it.
3. The `advantages` are only advantages in a very small and superficial manner. They do not counter the disadvantages.
4. It suits the company way more than the user. We are simply told it`s better for us
Finally,I shall not give CA|SEGA my money for RTW2 while it forces Steam on me. They have given us no good reason why it must be so. Basically they don`t care.
A Steam Option would benefit ALL. Don`t fight us, JOIN us.
Games don`t need forced Steam
Does the announcement concerning the release of information tomorrow negate the possibility of an actual patch release? http://twitter.com/#!/totalwar
Yeah thats one way to look at it. Another is they already sold the game and aren't obligated to give anything more.
Personally I really like shogun 2. I can see how it would be seen as bland... compared to other TW games. Small map and all. Wish they would have used that northern island Hokaido for something though.
"Talk about it tomorrow as we're trying to squeeze some really cool stuff in"?
Reads to me as, 'Sorry Johnny, Santa's late.......because he has to carry so many presents for you'.
Watch out Johnny, I say.

I don't get it - they missed putting DX11 in release and a promised patch in April, now in May the patch is being stuffed with EXTRA GOODIES, and the stuffing of these goodies into the patch sounds like it might be a cause/excuse for more delay. Seems odd that even a small delay could be countenanced so as to provide some extra goodies which are doubtless intended (at least in part) to make-up for the previous delays.
Bonkers.
It doesn't make sense to me to hold off DX11 and some fixes to add more weight and complexity (aka goodies) to such an anticipated and already-delayed patch.
Still, it appears as if patch should be next week, along with some goodies.......maybe extra units else what have the Gfx-y peeps being doing to earn their bacon?
haha
As long as the fluff doesn't come with a price tag, I'm mildly indifferent.
It's....!

So they will give us an ice cream , kiss us on a forehead and we will be happy family once again ?
